Mordecai and C.J. go out on a real, romantic date — and find themselves on the run from the head of Couple Corral (the dating website that Mordecai signed up for on "Yes, Dude, Yes" after he thought Margaret accepted a marriage proposal), who needs people to stay single, so he can stay rich.

- The charms on the charm bracelet, which represents the some of the stuff Mordecai and CJ did when they first met in "Yes Dude Yes", are a shopping cart, a laser gun, a cloud butt, a roller skate, a video game controller, a grilled cheese sandwich, a go-kart, an alligator, and an air hockey mallet.
- The restaurant where Mordecai and CJ went on their date is the Bistro en le Parc, which is under new management after the events of "Fancy Restaurant".
- Continuity Nod: The rock polisher that Eileen showed to Rigby in "Skips in the Saddle" appears when CJ called Eileen to help her on her date.
- Corrupt Corporate Executive: The CEO of the Couple Corral website is one, even saying his crooked lawyer gave him the idea to force couples to break up so they could continue using the site.
- Disney Death: Mordecai is seemingly killed when saving CJ from a bazooka attack meant for her.
- Evil Is Petty: The Couple Corral CEO spends the entire evening harassing Mordecai to break up with CJ, just so he doesn't lose his business.
- Gone Horribly Right: Couple Corral worked a little too well, leaving no lonely single people left to subscribe.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Mordecai protects CJ from the missile by pushing her out of the way and takes the hit.
- Hulking Out: C.J. goes into angry storm cloud mode for the first time since her introduction. And aims it at the CEO.
- Murder the Hypotenuse: The Couple Corral CEO"s solution to Mordecai refusing to dump CJ is to murder her, therebye freeing him up for their website.
- Poor Communication Kills: A rather benign example. Mordecai and CJ keep missing their opportunities to give each other their gifts due to both making it a surprise and both surprises (a jewelry box during desert and after dinner desert) colliding. Thankfully Rigby and Eileen, both sent to fetch their respective friends items, end up fixing it by luring them both to the pier.
- Ship Tease: Eilieen sneaking Rigby the wafflecake.
