It's Christmas time and Javi needs to find the perfect present for the Secret Santa exchange.
- Adaptational Heroism: As much as an inanimate object can be, but Santa's sketchbook in the Sentai was the Grimoire Minosaur, one of the monsters that was created from negative emotions that the Ryusoulgers fought. Here, the book belonged to Santa and was never meant to be used for evil, only doing so when Slyther stole it.
- An Aesop: A perfect Christmas gift is one that comes from the heart.
- Art Initiates Life: Santa shows Javi a magic notebook that makes whatever he draws come to life. Javi refuses to use it, but Slyther steals it to create monsters for him to fight before using it on himself.
- Avenging the Villain: Slyther and Mucus plot to destroy the Rangers to avenge Void Knight.
- Bookends: The episode begins and ends with people singing "Jingle Bells".
- Chekhov's Gun:
- The Christmas star that someone dropped in Javi's guitar case. It's actually a bomb.
- Javi's songbook he used in the beginning of the episode is his gift for Solon.
- Christmas Episode: This episode focuses on the Rangers celebrating Christmas while Javi deals with the sinister antics of the Void Knight's crew.
- Clip Show: A variation; with Mucus hiding a time-bomb as one of the Secret Santa presents, Javi opens the presents and remembers certain moments of the show while trying to discover which gift has actually been swapped out with a bomb that will destroy the base along with him and Solon in it. It turns out to be none of them, as they're all gifts that only a member of the team who had been through those moments would have thought of giving to another member. The real bomb is the star on the tree.
- Crazy-Prepared: According to Izzy, Amelia's group calendar was reminding everyone of the exchange twice a week for the past three months.
- Did Not Think This Through: Javi's initial Secret Santa gift is gloves for Solon...forgetting that she has claws.
- End of an Era: Twofold; this episode not only ends PR's run on Nickelodeon, but also ends its run on linear television, as Season 2 of Dino Fury was announced to be exclusive to Netflix.
- Fish out of Temporal Water: Aiyon and Zayto have no idea who Santa Claus is, and Aiyon misheard it as "Secret Sander" and bought a sander gift. Justified in that they've been in stasis for millions of years.
- Mythology Gag: Santa's sketchbook is awfully familiar for those familiar with Power Rangers SPD. Specifically, it brings to mind Mora and how she created alien criminals with her drawings.
- Once More, with Clarity: The beginning of the episode has a star unceremoniously dropped into Javi's guitar case. We get a flashback of a stranger (Slyther in disguise) doing the deed.
- Performance Anxiety: Solon can't sing Christmas songs because of this.
- Unexplained Recovery: How did Mucus and Slyther escape that dimension?
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: The real Santa Claus is posing around as a mall Santa... and Javi is able to converse with him like this is no big deal. note
