Recap / Power Rangers Dino Supercharge S2E17 Worgworld

Go To

After being freed by Arcanon, Snide is ready to eliminate his past for good, by taking out Heckyl. Poisandra cuts him off however, reminding him of what the two promised in exchange for their freedom: valuable information. Snide whispers the secret to Poisandra, who recoils in shock, before happily skipping out of the ship with Curio. The ship's alarm blares out, signalling that a prisoner has broken free. This turns out to be none other than Heckyl, who easily blasted his two Spikeball guards out of the way. Snide destroys them both for their weakness, before deciding it is too much hassle to chase him down. Instead, he turns his attention to Arcanon's newest plan.

At the museum, there is an exhibit on 'Worg the Caveman', who Koda empathizes with. While Worg is not a very popular exhibit, Koda insists that he is merely not doing the right 'job', so to speak. However, after incident upon incident pile up, including Worg throwing tomatoes at diners, Kendall puts her foot down and tells Koda to put Worg into storage. Outside, the rangers begin packing up Worg's promotional cutout when two street performers walk into view. These 'street performers' turn out to be Arcanon's henchmen, Conductro and Screech. Screech is capable of playing a song on his trumpet that turns anyone who hears it into a zombie, while Conductro is able to manipulate any object. The music causes all of the civilians to zombify, and starts affecting the rangers too, one by one each of them falling under the spell.

Koda is still unhappy about Kendall's decision, but he is distracted by the zombie civilians, who swarm the cafe en masse to convert him. Chase spots the horde too and takes his headphones off to hear Koda, only to fall under the spell himself. Koda flees, and is surrounded by civilians and rangers alike, when he realizes something. He is not affected because he has his headset on, so if the others cannot hear the music, they are freed as well. He puts Chase's headphones back on, and covers the ears of the other rangers to return them to normal, before going after Screech's trumpet. As the music stops, the civilians return to normal and flee, leaving the rangers to morph and engage the two monsters. However, they are more than a match for the rangers, and flee the scene.

Kendall analyses the music and discovers that the hypnotic wavelength is the same as Koda's headset, meaning it can negate the hypnosis while still being able to communicate, while Chase reveals his headphones are noise-cancelling, hence why he couldn't hear either. Zenowing notes that they were lucky they didn't lose their Energems, and the team work through the night to build headsets for everyone to counter the music. Meanwhile, Arcanon is discussing the events of the day with his men when Snide interjects, saying that the rangers will be easy prey for him, after Conductro reveals the rangers refuse to hurt civilians. Arcanon dismisses him however, since he couldn't even keep Heckyl locked up. Snide leaves the ship to parts unknown, while Arcanon upgrades Conductro's arsenal.

The next day, Screech and Conductro start playing their music across the entire city, forcing the rangers out to battle them. Since the headsets are not yet finished for everyone, Zenowing and Ivan remain in the base while the core five head out first. While tracking the music's origin, they become trapped in an alley, and contemplate fighting the civilians, even though it could hurt them. Koda however has a better plan - Worg! He uses the robot as a decoy, using it to lure the zombie civilians away, but their joy is short lived as Vivix arrive on the scene. Morphing, they head into battle, Shelby and Tyler breaking off to confront the twins. Combining their personal weapons, the five launch the Dino Spike at them, however, Conductro is able to block it, to everyone's shock. Ivan and Zenowing arrive on the scene, and are able to destroy the gramophone transmitting the music. The twins are joined by Arcanon himself, who powers up using the Dark Energem. The trio take on the rangers, whose combined final attacks barely make a scratch on them. Arcanon then Magnabeams himself, forcing the rangers into the Ultrazord. However, not even the Ultrazord is able to damage Arcanon in his powered form. The Raptor Claw and Para Shooter just bounce off him, and the Titano Head Smash barely makes a scratch; meanwhile Arcanon's energy blast hits the rangers hard. Zenowing suggests they stop playing and use the strongest attack they have, the Ultrazord's chest cannon. All ten Energems combine to deal massive damage to Arcanon, knocking him out of his powered form and shrinking him back to normal.

Kendall and Shelby discuss Worg, saying that even though Koda was the only one who believed in him, it was still enough for Worg to be a hero, and maybe there is a job out there for him. Turns out, that job is Caveman Aerobics, where everyone wears leopard print clothing and holds a club. Even Kendall gets into the workout...

As for Arcanon? He ends up battered and bruised in the forest, and runs afoul of a blast from the past - Sledge! Previously thought to be killed in the crash, Sledge has been alive all this time, and is now ready to collect his bounty. However, rather than his typical space bullion, he would much prefer the Dark Energem instead. Arcanon scoffs, telling him that he is outnumbered four to one with Singe coming in to reinforce him along with his monsters. However, Sledge counters that it is the perfect time to get the band back together, as his own team, Snide included, flank him from the trees. Sledge's handgun and Snide's sword are easily able to destroy the now defenseless four usurpers, and the two allies now begin formulating their final plan. Heckyl meanwhile has been following Snide around, and sees the entire confrontation unfold first hand...
