With Snide now in Arcanon's hands, he pleads to be freed, even offering a plan to get the Energems for Arcanon. Said plan involves a teacher, Professor Strickler, who is capable of switching peoples minds between their bodies. The professor demonstrates by switching Singe and a Vivix, to the horror of Singe. When asked what Snide would get out of such a plan, Snide replies that he wants his freedom, not from Arcanon, but from Heckyl. He offers to destroy Heckyl himself if Arcanon splits them up just like the rangers did with Zenowing and Doomwing.

In the meantime, the rangers are busy trying to catch a graffiti artist that has been defacing the museum for the last few weeks. Hidden inside a shipping crate, they wait for the artist in order to catch them in the act. It turns out that the artist in question looks exactly like Ivan, and when queried, not only confirms that he came from Zandar, but that one of his ancestors was in fact a knight of Zandar. Kendall arrives and convinces the artist, Zack, that Ivan is his cousin from Zandar, instead of his "great-great-yaddayadda grandfather".

Ivan supervises Zack in cleaning the graffiti off the wall, which Zack claims is great art. Riley interrupts and tries to smooth things over with Zack, convincing him that while he believes his art is good, it doesn't detract from the fact that he still defaced a public building. His point is made further by a can of paint falling on Zack and ruining his jacket. A while later, Ivan offers to teach Zack all about fine art, the way it was while he was in Zandar, however the painting Zack creates is instead of a medieval knight riding a motorcycle through flames, definitely impressive, but not what Ivan had in mind.

Strickler and two monsters attack the rangers, switching them into other bodies, Chase and Koda are switched, as are Tyler and Shelby. As they fight, none of them are used to the other's weapon, and they get beaten back. Ivan and Riley join the fight and promptly get switched. However, since both are competent swordsmen, they are able to use each other styles with ease, pushing the monster trio back. The monsters retreat, leaving the rangers stuck in each others bodies.

In the Dino Base, the rangers are attempting to adjust to their new bodies, and try to find clothes that match their original colors. While for the most part the rangers are able to adapt, Shelby, being the only girl affected is stuck trying to get her clothes to fit on Tyler's body, which goes about as well as you'd expect. Riley finds Zack's painting in the trash, which Ivan admits is where it belongs, to the disagreement of the other rangers. Zenowing and Keeper try to get him to see that art is still art, despite what one may think, and he has a change of heart. In Riley's body, Ivan heads over to Zack to talk it out, the two comparing it to how Ivan prefers strawberry smoothies and not lime. There is nothing wrong with lime, he just doesn't like it. Ivan suggests that maybe if he were to give it a chance, he may come to like lime smoothies, just like Zack's artwork.

An alert sends the rangers back into battle, where Strickler hits them again with the switching device, causing the rangers to move around again. This time however, they adjust by passing round each others weapons, and when asked who is who, give a roll call with their names and colors, despite them not matching with their current bodies. The rangers are able to fight the monsters to a standstill, and Zenowing arrives to break the deadlock. However, Strickler has the other monsters switch him and Zenowing, forcing the rangers to destroy the device before anything else. The eraser is destroyed, reverting all switches made, and the rangers ready their finishers to end the battle. Arcanon however is furious, and orders all three enlarged, forcing the rangers to call on the Ultrazord. The Ultrazord is more than a match for the trio of monsters, and with the Titano Cannon, they defeat them with ease.

While Zack and Ivan reconcile, Arcanon is successful in splitting Heckyl and Snide apart. Heckyl is beyond furious, and tells Snide exactly what happens to traitors, while Arcanon laughs and sends him back to solitary. Heckyl swears his revenge on all of them before being taken away.

A later battle gets them swapped further: Chase ends up in Riley's body, Ivan in Koda's, Shelby in Ivan's, Riley in Tyler's, and Zenowing with Stricker; the Monster of the Week responsible for the switching.
  • Identical Grandson: Zack, Ivan's descendant.

  • The Reveal: The tentacled creature seen in "True Black" and "Rise of a Ranger" was not Greenzilla, as the fan base theorised, but Snide in a One-Winged Angel transformation.
