Butch and Cassidy try to steal the Pokeballs from Professor Oak's laboratory.
This episode provides examples of:
- Accidental Misnaming: Butch, of course.Tracey: Oh! I've heard of you guys! You guys are the other ones; you're Cassidy, and you're Biff.Butch: (almost falls over) Biff?! (now has a Comical Angry Face) It's Butch, not Biff! Weren't you listening to a word that I said, heh?!Delia: Hey, calm down, Bill.Butch: It's Butch!
- Berserk Button: Selling Pokemon is definitely one for Professor Oak.
- Blasphemous Boast:Butch: I think I make a good Golem.Cassidy: And why is that?Butch: We're very similar. We're both strong, tough, fierce, powerful- (cut to Totodile spotting them) we're both great fighters, we're both fearless, we're both-Cassidy: Alright, enough already! I get your point.
- Call-Back: The Magikarp salesman from "Battle Aboard the St. Anne" tries to sell Tracey a Magikarp with the fib that it lays golden eggs. This time, the customer doesn't buy the scam, and the conman makes a run for it upon learning just what door he had knocked on.
- Deadpan Snarker: Cassidy.Butch: I hate walking with soggy feet.Cassidy: I thought you were tough.Butch: I am! But I like dry socks.
- Doom Doors: A vertical door in Professor Oak’s lab uses this sound effect when it opens.
- Hidden in Plain Sight: Butch and Cassidy infiltrate the lab disguised as a Golem and Nidoqueen, respectively.
- Oh, Crap!:
- The Magikarp salesman when he learns that he had just knocked on the door of Professor Oak's laboratory.
- Cassidy too, when a Nidoking sets his sights on her, while she's disguised as a Nidoqueen.
- Both Butch and Cassidy, when a Muk (presumably Ash's) glomps the fake Muk that covered the cart containing the stolen Pokeballs.
- Series Continuity Error: When Cassidy and Butch are revealed, Tracy says he's "heard of them" having forgotten about the events of Pikachu Re-Volts when he met them in person.
