As the group slowly nears the end of their climb up Foal Mountain, they come across a group of five trusting baby Dranby. As the friendly Pokémon try to play with them, their mother Champagoon arrives and attacks the group, believing they are a danger to her children. Flash and Hopper are seperated from the others during the attack and knocked off the cliff, and now Flash must protect Hopper while working their way back up to Cloudsdale City, and make it through an angry over-protective mother.
- Awesome Mc Cool Name: After Hopper evolves into a Skeidran, Flash declares that even his name sounds awesome.
- Big Entrance: Flash and Hopper make one by literally flying into Cloudsdale City, not only showing they are okay but showing off Hopper's final evolution.
- The Glomp: All of Flash's Pokémon tackle him to the ground in hugs upon realizing he is okay.
- Mama Bear: The mother Champagoon instantly attacks the group just for being near her babies, not listening to them even as they try to explain they don't mean her any harm.
- Now, Let Me Carry You: As Hopper realizes that Flash has been like a father to him his whole life, protecting him time and time again, he realizes that now he needs to protect Flash, and evolves in order to save him.
- Oh, Crap!: When Flash and Hopper run into two of the Dranby again, they silently panic realizing that if they're there then the mother is there too. Shortly afterwards, Champagoon rounds the corner with her other babies and upon spotting Flash and Hopper attacks them once again.
- Parental Substitute: As Hopper's life flashes before his eyes as he and Flash fall together, he realizes that Flash has been more than just his trainer, he has been the closest thing Hopper has to a father.
- Poor Communication Kills: The five baby Dranby approach the group to play with them due to their trusting nature. However, when Champagoon sees a group of strangers near her babies, not realizing that her babies were the ones that approached them, she attacks them in a blind rage, refusing to listen as they try to explain they mean no harm to her or her kids. It isn't until Flash and Hopper save her from falling to her own death that she realizes they truly meant her and her kids no harm, and apologizes to her babies for scaring them.
- Took a Level in Badass: Hopper evolves from a Velocirush to a Skeidran in order to save Flash from falling to his death and defeat Champagoon, and in doing so not only gains the ability to fly but also learns Extreme Speed and Dragon Tail.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The five baby Dranby unintentially cause the problem here by approaching the group to play with them. All they were trying to do was make new friends, but their mother thought the group was trying to hurt them and attacked. Dranby's pokedex entry did say their trusting nature often leads to trouble; apparently just not always for specifically them.
- Wham Episode: Hopper fully evolves into a Skeidran.
