Recap / My Gym Partners A Monkey S 2 E 23 Talking Teddy

Go To

Windsor brings a puppet to school, and everyone thinks it's real.

  • Black Comedy: The last new kid at Charles Darwin Middle School, who was always described as "quite a drag", was a possum, who died. He wasn't playing possum. He was a dead possum, and Principal Pixiefrog just happens to be carrying him around in a miniature coffin. You know, because he should totally be allowed to do that.
    Stupid Hand: Now, that's offensive.

  • Cannot Tell Fiction from Reality: Nobody can tell the difference between puppets and real people.
  • Class Clown: Teddy Truman tells lots of hilarious jokes, that leave his classmates cracking up.
  • Consulting Mr Puppet: Windsor talks to Teddy Truman, even though he knows he's fake.
  • Flashback: A flashback to Jake as a baby is shown, explaining why he can't differentiate puppets and humans.
  • I'm Standing Right Here: People keep commenting on how "Teddy Truman is way more fun than the last new kid", with Adam, the newly transferred boy, standing right there. It soon came about, that there was actually a possum kid, who transferred shortly after Adam did.
  • Just for Pun: The School of Hard Knocks.
  • Put on a Bus: Literally. This is how Teddy Truman leaves the show.
  • Real After All: In the credits, Teddy Truman, laughs without Windsor being there to manipulate him.

  • Remember the New Guy?: Turns out the "last new kid" everyone was referring to, was actually a possum, who transferred to the school, some time after Adam did.
  • Ventriloquism: Windsor uses Teddy as a ventriloquist puppet.
  • Who's on First?: Windsor and Teddy put a spin on this routine, by throwing in a pun at the end.
Windsor: That pretty much covers all the bases.
