What was supposed to be a happy, festive day for the folks at Colorful for the Halloween season is now turned into a massive, unmitigated riot of trick-or-treaters barging throughout town, thanks to Halloween Wald's shenanigans. Worse, the Zenkaigers, despite managing to fend off Halloween Wald's nonsense for the time being, are now tasked to find his head before he finds it again and causes the rampage to resume. Unfortunately, Hakaizer and Stacy are not going to make this gruelling, back-breaking mission easy.
Tropes
- Actor Allusion: Setchan is dressed as Tinkerbell for his costume, with Yatsude as Peter Pan to match. Ikue Sakakibara (Yatsude) is famously known for playing Peter Pan on the stage in the 80s.
- The Bus Came Back: The use of Sentai Gear powers return this episode, after being outclassed by stronger powerups and weapons, which resulted in them not being used since episode 29.
- Contrived Coincidence: Played with. Halloween Wald loses his jack-o'-lantern during Halloween, leading everyone to scramble around town looking for his amongst all the other jack-o'-lanterns put out for the festival, but it turns out this is advantageous to him as it turns out any jack-o'-lantern can recover his powers, he could have just picked one off the street to do so. And yet he still goes into hiding to wait for Stacy or Hakaizer to retrieve one for him.
- Dramatic Unmask: Hakaizer's helm fades away due to him running low on power, which leads to The Reveal below.
- Halloween Episode: This episode focuses on the Zenkaigers celebrating Halloween while trying to stop the Tozitend at the same time. Bonus points for the episode airing on October 31, the day Halloween is traditionally celebrated.
- Hidden in Plain Sight: Halloween Wald lost his power when he lost the pumpkin atop his head within the city. Unfortunately, it happens in a time when the city is full to bursting with jack o' lanterns, meaning it could be anywhere. However, see "Shaggy Dog" Story below.
- Locked Out of the Loop: At episode's end, only the Kikainoid-Zenkaigers know of Hakaizer's true identity, with Kaito, Yatsude and Setchan none the wiser.
- Pet the Dog: Hakaizer praises Stacey for finding a pumpkin for Halloween Wald to use. Stacey tries to brush him off.
- The Reveal: Hakaizer's true identity is revealed to be Isao Goshikida, Kaito's father. He even says in the next episode preview at the end of the previous episode that this will happen.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: The episode's main plot about finding Halloween Wald's pumpkin to keep him from restoring his powers is rendered moot by the fact that any jack o' lantern-style pumpkin would do, not just a particular one.Twokaiser: (furious) Anyone wanna tell me why I wasted my entire day?!
