It seems peace has returned after Giff was sealed, but the news reports that sudden attacks are happening in the city. Ikki rushes over to Weekend's headquarters, worried that Giff may have restarted his invasion. Just then, Vice is also affected by something that seems to be related to Giff, and that something is!?

Tropes

  • The Bus Came Back: Olteca returns to the show after his supposed demise in #28 and Kagero gets to transform into Evil for the first time since #26.
  • Crucified Hero Shot: Ikki looks for a missing Vice, only to find him strung up in the air with Giff re-appearing right behind him.
  • Flunky Boss: Giff has the weird bugs that have manifested from the cocoons turn into Gifftarians, the Hell Gifftarian, and the Chameleon, Planarian, Sabertiger, and Anomalocaris Deadmans. And whenever the protagonists beat them down, more bugs come in to replace the fallen spawnlings.
  • Mook Chivalry: The Gifftarians fighting Sakura in this episode never target Lovekov even after she makes herself vulnerable on the battlefield, even though killing Lovekov would take out Sakura too. Justified, given that Giff wants the Igarashis by his side in his new world.
  • No-Sell: Giff doesn't show a hint of pain after being hit by both EvilityLive's and Ultimate Revi's finishers.
  • Poor Communication Kills: As a mysterious wound opens up on Lovekov's back in the early part of the episode, Lovekov attempts to communicate something to Sakura; Sakura rebuffs her due to her fear of Lovekov getting even more hurt. Much like what happened in #32 and part of #33, this notably weakens their usually good dynamic and nearly gets Sakura seriously hurt when she's too distracted by Lovekov's increased agitation to give her full focus to the fight.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Sakura takes up a stance similar to this when she discovers Lovekov's injury, telling Lovekov that she'll fight on her own. This just agitates Lovekov more and causes her to barge in while Sakura's fighting, insisting that she wants to fight too.
  • Wham Shot: A red-eyed Vice serving as Giff's Mouth of Sauron, welcoming the Igarashi brothers to his new world.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Sakura's obsessive fretting over Lovekov's injury gets her knocked out of her armor and forces Hana to bail her out before she gets seriously injured, something Hana calls Sakura out for almost immediately.
    Hana: "What are you doing!?"
