Recap / Kaeloo S 2 E 34 Lets Play Jump Rope

Go To

Kaeloo takes Mr. Cat to see her therapist. In their absence, Stumpy, Quack Quack, and the bunny twins play jump rope against each other.

"Let's Play Jump Rope" contains the following tropes:

  • The Bet: Prior to the episode, Kaeloo and Mr. Cat made some sort of bet where Mr. Cat and Quack Quack compete with each other; if Quack Quack wins, Mr. Cat has to take a dare from Kaeloo and if he wins, vice versa. Kaeloo wins, so she uses her dare to force him to visit a therapist since she thinks he would benefit from therapy.
  • Downer Ending: Kaeloo ruins any chance of Mr. Cat actually benefiting from therapy by a) telling him that he's probably too "twisted" for a doctor to help anyway and b) sticking him in a highly ineffective, shoddy excuse for "group therapy" and depriving him of necessary attention from the therapist.
  • Freudian Couch: Mr. Cat is told to lie on a couch while speaking to the therapist.
  • The Ghost: We never see the doctor onscreen. Only his voice is heard.
  • Hidden Depths: Stumpy is really good at jumping rope.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: The episode has two plots: one where Kaeloo forces Mr. Cat to see a psychotherapist and another where the rest of the cast get into a fight.
  • You Can Talk?: Parodied. Kaeloo tells Mr. Cat that her psychotherapist can't talk, then the psychotherapist speaks up to let her know that he can; the only reason he never spoke was that Kaeloo is a talkative Motor Mouth and he couldn't get a word in edgewise.
