Rowan discovers what they truly are...

Tropes:

  • Aesop Amnesia: Played for Laughs during the cookoff with Amalia. She mentions that Rowan tried to combine pickles and honey during their last cookoff, to which Rowan claims to have learned their lesson. However, during the cookoff in this episode, they can still make a crepe with chicken and chocolate, blueberries and spinach, or strawberries and cheese, among other things.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Since Chapter 2, Rowan has been seeing their dead sister Annie's ghost. It's revealed in this chapter that the ghost is actually their Power half, who took on a form that would be familiar to Rowan.
  • Internal Reveal: Though Rowan has only just realised this themselves, they have the option to explain to their friends what they really are at the end of the chapter.
  • It's All About Me: Rowan has a bout of this if they choose not to fix Amalia's college records, despite being responsible for erasing them in the first place, because they don't want Amalia to leave them. Ignoring the fact that Amalia would have stayed even if her college records were fixed (though neither Rowan not the player - see Shmuck Bait below - would know this without hindsight), Rowan would essentially be ruining their best friend's life (after she had worked so hard) out of fear and selfishness. Needless to say, Amalia is not happy when she finds out.
  • Plot Allergy: A minor case; Amalia is allergic to strawberries, so choosing them during the cookout is an automatic loss for Rowan.
  • The Reveal: A whole bunch of them! Rowan discovers that Annie's ghost is actually their Power half in a form they knew and loved, Matthias is revealed to be almost 250 years old and can shift between his older and younger forms at will, Rowan subconsciously removed Amalia from the university system because they wanted her to be with them forever, Matthias's brother LJ is revealed to be responsible for everything, and Moss is revealed to have died after his owner passed on.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Once Amalia learns the truth about Rowan, she decides to leave. Whether she comes back at the end of the next chapter or not depends on her relationship score.
  • Shmuck Bait: A message will pop up to say that if Rowan fixes Amalia's college records, she may choose to leave, and if you tell her the truth, you may risk losing her forever. If you want a happy ending, do NOT heed this warning; Rowan not telling Amalia the truth or fixing her college records will cause cause her relationship scores to drop significantly (and choosing not to fix her records at all, as opposed to planning to do so later will cause a drop so hefty that Amalia is guaranteed to not come back), and she will find out the truth regardless, and if her relationship score isn't high enough (at least 75), she will leave, preventing a good ending with her, so listening to the warning will actually make things worse for you.
