Recap / Henry Danger S 3 E 12 Jam Session

Go To

When Piper starts taking Junior Anger Management classes to help control her anger issues, Ray makes a wager with Henry he can make Piper lose her temper before the night ends.

This episode provides examples of:

  • The Bet: Ray's bet with Henry is this: If he can get Piper to lose her temper before the night ends, Henry and Charlotte have to eat raw pumpkin guts. If Piper can stay cool and control her temper all night, Ray and Jasper eat the guts.
  • Big "NO!": Piper screams one at Henry when he tries to squeeze her bulb to calm her after Captain Man "fires" her. When Charlotte tries to squeeze it for her, Piper screams it again louder and more furiously.
  • Call-Back: Piper's dark pink Vans sneakers make their fifth appearance after Dodging Danger, Danger and Thunder, Ox Pox, and Opposite Universe.
  • Crazy-Prepared: At the beginning when Jake and Kris have heard Piper's friends have left for the ski trip without her, they start hiding anything dangerous like knives and scissors should she get furious.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Piper becomes this to Narlee and her gang, as they leave for the ski trip without her; Narlee tells her that while the girls do like her, they can't stand her bad temper and it makes her not fun to be around. This gives Henry the idea to sign her up for JAM class.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Piper goes to JAM (Junior Anger Management) class to help control her bad temper.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Piper, for once, does not go furious and destructive after the call with Narlee; she instead starts crying profusely over regretting her bad temper, having realized how awful she has become.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Piper finally loses her temper when Schwoz falls through the roof and crashes on top of her, and eats all the family's lobster balls. Since her collar broke and fell off, she cannot be calmed down and Henry and Charlotte lose.
  • Rule of Three: The first time Piper started to get mad was when she was denied a pet pony; Henry squeezed her bulb and calmed her down. The second time, Ray turns into Captain Man to kick her out of the Man Fans for her height; she gets mad again and refuses to squeeze her bulb, but manages to calm down. The third time was when Schwoz crashes through the roof and plows her to the ground, causing her aroma collar to break off her neck with no way to calm down, and has a full-blown Rage Breaking Point.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Jake leaves the house in order to escape Piper's wrath.
  • The Tape Knew You Would Say That: Ray leaves a letter for Schwoz to pick up some more pumpkins despite the tornado outside. When Schwoz refuses and tosses the note, he gets another from Ray saying he doesn't care about the tornado, and Schwoz tosses that. Schwoz then finds one more letter from Ray telling him to pick up the notes he discarded and go get the pumpkins.
  • Voiceover Letter: The letters left by Ray to Schwoz are read aloud in his voiceover as Schwoz reads them. Lampshaded in the first letter that begins with the headline telling Schwoz to imagine his voice as he reads it.
