Monroe and Rosalee's date is thoroughly ruined.

Death stood behind him and said: 'Follow me, the hour of your departure from this world has come.'

While investigating an accident site, Nick comes upon a bizarre and gruesome Wesen plague. Monroe and Rosalee's first date takes a dangerous turn when they encounter an infected Wesen out for blood. With Rosalee infected, can the plague be stopped before it becomes an epidemic?

Meanwhile, Captain Renard gets a tip about a dangerous foreign fugitive who's made his way to Portland and looking for Nick.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Above the Influence: Monroe and Rosalee return to the spice shop after their date is cut short by the infected Park Ranger. Kissing ensues, which Monroe is thrilled about until he finds out Rosalee is experiencing the lustful first stage of infection. After that, he's entirely focused on brewing up a cure.
  • Bridal Carry: Nick brings an unconscious Rosalee to the spice shop in this fashion after tracking her down. Monroe takes one look and freaks out thinking she's dead.
  • Call-Back:
  • Closest Thing We Got: An infected Rosalee manages to find the cure recipe in her books, but is too far gone to make it herself. Monroe does it for her, but Hank has to actually feed it to her as Monroe's hands are shaking too badly.
  • Contamination Situation: The Victim of the Week, his wife, a Park Ranger he crashed into and attacked, and Rosalee are all infected with a Wesen-specific disease that first causes lust, then rages, fever and rashes, then death.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Monroe awkwardly tells Nick about the symptoms of the disease over the phone while Rosalee enthusiastically makes out with him, then breaks off as he recognises the symptoms he's describing.
  • Hate Plague: One of the effects of the disease, presumably to ensure it gets spread. The first victim attacks the Park Ranger, infecting him. The Park Ranger then goes to work and attacks Monroe and Rosalee on their date, infecting Rosalee.
  • Kind Restraints: Averted. As Monroe gets an infected Rosalee into bed, she weakly tells him to tie her down, but he's already rushed off the make the cure and doesn't hear her.
  • Saying Too Much: Juliette invites Bud the Eisbiber over for coffee after remembering him freaking out over meeting Nick. He carelessly refers to Nick as a Grimm, thinking Juliette knows about that. When she asks what that means, he tries to pass it off as slang for "good cop" and then makes a hasty exit.
