Joey works in Las Vegas after the movie he was going to be in shuts down. Chandler books a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate his and Monica's first anniversary. Phoebe insists on going with them to make up for missing out on London, but creates tension between them upon revealing that Monica had lunch with Richard recently. Rachel and Ross are to follow them the next day, but in the meanwhile Rachel has the apartment to herself and walks around naked, only for Ross to see her through the window and misunderstand her intentions. Later when they're on the plane to Vegas, they embarrass each other as revenge for the incident.

- Missing Steps Plan: Joey is sure he can make money from having a “hand twin”, but when Chandler asks how, he confesses he hasn’t figured that out yet.
- Naked People Are Funny: With Monica's apartment all to herself, Rachel decides to spend the day naked. Ross sees her and mistakes it as a come-on.Rachel: [thinking] Check me out, I'm in my kitchen... naked. I'm pickin' up an orange... and I'm naked. I'm lighting the candle... naked — and carefully.
- Potty Failure: During their prank war Rachel dumps a drink in Ross' lap and tells the flight attendant he had "a little accident".
- Shout-Out: When Chandler sees Joey dressed as a gladiator, he jokes “Love your condoms, my good man”, referring to Trojan condoms, which have a man in a gladiator helmet as a logo.
- Sleep Cute: Rachel falls asleep on Ross on the flight to Vegas. Subverted as Ross takes advantage of the situation to doodle on her face.
- Viva Las Vegas!: Chandler, Monica and Phoebe travel to Las Vegas for fun and Joey is working there in a casino. Monica eventually gets into gambling.
