VPC tries to film a commercial for a psychic named Miriam, but they drop her once they learn she won't pay them for all their work. She puts a curse on all of them, and misfortune soon falls on them.
Tropes in this episode include:
- Accidental Public Confession: In The Stinger, Harry admits to murdering his father to get his secret recipe, which a nearby police officer hears and promptly arrests him.
- Big, Stupid Doodoo-Head: Owen's "curse" on Miriam includes saying that Miriam is a stupid name, which a bunch of 4th graders said too apparently.
- Creepy Doll: Ryan's "curse" is Petunia, a demonic-looking doll who brings a lollipop for Ryan every time she appears to him.
- Curse:
- Miriam curses the VPC crew because she can't afford to pay them as much as they want.
- VPC goes back to Miriam and they ask for the curse to be lifted. They counter with their own curse on her.
- Death Glare: Miriam glares at the VPC crew when she says they can't help her without money.
- Gone Horribly Right: All the advertising money Devin invests leads them to get a ton of clients, but VPC isn't equipped to handle these many jobs.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: Ryan says he won't let Micah out of his sight, but Micah immediately leaves.
- Misplaced a Decimal Point: Devin is tasked with spending $100 to advertise their new website but accidentally spends $10,000.
- Mourning an Object: Ryan becomes distraught when the curse on him is lifted and Petunia has to leave him. Petunia does manage to send him a farewell message and one last lollipop.
- Pass the Popcorn: Ryan takes a sip from a juicebox when tension ratchets between Miriam and Zona.
- Shout-Out: Devin says she was watching Family Matters.
- Tempting Fate: Micah tries to stay positive even though he's cursed, but everything he says turns negative. It starts thundering after he says the weather is good, a thief steals his wallet, his glasses burn his Arby's coupon, and an animal rights activist spills paint on his shirt.
- Unishment: Ryan becomes friends with Petunia despite being a Creepy Doll, and he's sad when the doll has to leave because the "curse" on VPC is lifted.
