Tropes:

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: The Curator is this for the concept of museums and their purpose: to preserve and display the past for future generations.
  • Anti-Villain: Despite his sketchy business dealings, the Curator doesn't have any nefarious intentions. All he wants is to display proof that the heroes of the past once existed in the flesh in order to inspire the heroes of tomorrow.
  • Busman's Holiday: Sanson's assigned persona leading up to the heist is of a vacationing doctor who winds up taking charge of the museum's infirmary and looking after visitors who require medical attention.
  • Calling Card: Amakusa writes one up and has Jing Ke slip it into the Curator's pocket undetected. He signs it as Phantom Thief Moriarty, which the real one takes offense to when he finds out.
  • Child Prodigy: Voyager is given the role of a genius appraiser, complete with credentials fabricated by Chaldea.
  • Continuity Nod: Among the displays in the museum are a Nobbu Hinawa statue, Xu Fu's Yu Mei-Ren doll, and a model of Himeji-Pyramid-Csejte Castle.
  • Graceful Loser: The Curator admits defeat once Amakusa gets the Grail outside of the museum, saying it's only fair since he himself had stolen the Grail to begin with. Though he laments how his museum must vanish as a result, he also concedes that it wouldn't be right to keep the Grail on display while it's still needed to help save the world.
  • Heist Episode: The event revolves around the Master, Amakusa Shirou, and a handful of other Servants plotting to break into a museum in a minute Singularity and make off with the Holy Grail on display inside.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Amakusa explains that this is why he recommended entrusting Paris's Apple of Discord to Voyager for safekeeping; as a Heroic Spirit whose mission is entirely one of peaceful exploration, Voyager would be immune to the Apple's influence.
  • Phantom Thief: Amakusa. It's in the event's name, after all. His outfit for the occasion is available in the shop as a Spiritron Dress.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: The museum staff disappear midway through the finale, and remain unaccounted for following the conclusion of the event.
