- Double Entendre:Oboro [Queen of Sheba]: What happened? Did you get carried away and hand out so much chocolate you don't have enough to go around anymore? Well, don't worry. You're not the first woman to ruin herself by giving too much away to men.
Aoi [Medb]: Yeah, okay. Kill her. - Good Angel, Bad Angel: Higekuro (Blackbeard) reveal he has a pair when the gang meets Murasaki (Abigail). He's appalled to find that his angel is only slightly less obvious than his devil about creeping on little girls.
- Embarrassing Nickname: Basically everyone reacts negatively upon first hearing Shounagon's nickname for them, and would prefer not to be called by that.
- Hypocritical Humor: Aoi comments how she doesn't remember Oboro's name as she thinks she is beneath her, only to instantly call her out when Oboro says she doesn't remember Aoi's name because she is beneath her.Higekuro: Pot, meet kettle.
- Real Name as an Alias: Murasaki and Shounagon go by "Kaoruko" and "Nagiko." Unfortunately for Murasaki's attempt to use it for incognito purposes, Shounagon had already figured who she was thanks to an earlier comment and just went along with it because she figured that was what they were all doing.
- Theme Naming: Everyone in the dreamworld is named after The Tale of Genji characters. This foreshadows that it's Murasaki's dream, though before finding that out Murasaki concludes it means Sei created everything solely to mess with her.
- Whole-Plot Reference: To Agartha, as the party once again comes into a Lady Land where men are treated as lesser citizens (though this time for the crime of not receiving any Valentine's Day chocolate than simply existing) and need to overthrow the tyranny.
