"Let the games begin."
Ed is forced to babysit his little sister Sarah for the day. Eddy and Double D also get roped into doing it as well thanks to Sarah, and before long the Eds are forced to tend to her every whim, Eddy especially after hearing Ed will get paid for it. Unfortunately for them, it quickly becomes apparent they bit off way more than they can chew...

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Badly Battered Baby Sitter: When it's Sarah you're babysitting, it's no wonder the Eds end up being run ragged.
  • Batman Gambit: Eddy pulls one on Sarah by crowning himself King, which draws her ire enough for them to trap her in her own dungeon.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: This was the episode that really established just how bad Sarah can be.
  • Dirty Coward: The moment Sarah is captured, Jimmy immediately hides himself in the drawers without even trying to free Sarah or oppose the Eds.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After being run ragged by Sarah, the Eds finally get some well-deserved payback on Sarah and Jimmy, earning themselves a victory.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • Jimmy is shown to be just as rowdy and destructive as Sarah can be in this episode, which would be unheard of in later episodes with how spineless he would become, unless he was really pushed to his breaking point.
    • The fact that Ed's apparently being paid to watch Sarah may come off as weird considering his parents would be implied to have blatant Parental Favoritism towards Sarah later on in the series, and thus would be more likely to force Ed to watch her for free.
    • The fact that Sarah roped/forced Ed into The Dreaded Pretend Tea-Party is rather odd considering Sarah would often want nothing to do with her brother later on in the series and would be much more likely to just wait for Jimmy to play with rather than force her brother to play with her.
    • When Sarah starts misbehaving, Ed actually gets angry and scolds her. Rarely would Ed ever have the courage to stand up to her in later episodes.
    • Sarah manages to guilt Edd and Eddy into joining the tea party by holding her breath until she nearly passes out. Later series Eddy would absolutely never relent regardless of whether or not she passed out, and later series Sarah would be more apt to simply beat the crap out him rather than do anything that harms herself.
    • A very small one, but after Eddy quips that Sarah "will be asking for a throne" during her mistreatment of him and the other two Eds, he then says "A toast to my big mouth" when Sarah actually does get a throne of stuffed animals—it's quite weird to see Eddy take shots at himself and own up to his mistakes/shortcomings, as later on he would get the other Eds in trouble with him and pin the blame on someone else.
    • As with a few other season 1 episodes, the Eds manage to come out on top and actually best Sarah instead of the other way around.
  • The Dreaded Pretend Tea-Party: Ed was forced into one by Sarah at the beginning of the episode, though as it goes on it begins to resemble less of a tea party and more like a Renaissance Fair.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Sarah traps Eddy in a homemade dungeon when he refuses to play along with her games. The Eds defeat her by trapping her in this very same dungeon.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After Sarah spends the entire episode acting like a Bratty Half-Pint towards the Eds, bossing them around and breaking the household items in front of them to get them in trouble with Ed's parents, the Eds finally turn the tables and trap her in her own homemade dungeon.
  • No Ending: The Eds "fix" Ed's home after it gets wrecked by Sarah and Jimmy by drawing a picture of all of them happy together, with no indication whether or not any of them get in trouble.
  • Self-Deprecation: During the tea party, Eddy raises his cup for a toast to "my big mouth."
  • Team Rocket Wins: The Eds are able to successfully turn the tables on Sarah, capturing her in her homemade dungeon after being forced go along with the princess role play.
  • Tempting Fate: At one point, an annoyed Eddy quips that "Soon [Sarah]'ll be asking for a throne". Cut to Sarah sitting on a pile of chairs as an improvised 'throne'.
Eddy: [raises glass] A toast to my big mouth!
