Doc's parents give her a soft toy heart as a present for Valentine's Day. Doc names the toy Val, takes her to the clinic, and brings her to life. The toys are decorating for a Valentine's Day party, and Doc introduces Val. Lambie is confused, noting that Val doesn't seem broken, but Doc explains that she's a new toy, not a patient. Val then says that Valentine's Day is "her" day, which makes Lambie sad as she sees Valentine's Day as her day.
Stuffy is about to photograph Lambie with Doc, but Val photo-bombs it, making Lambie even more unhappy. Doc then shows Lambie a "cuddle booth" that Val is in charge of. This further saddens and aggravates Lambie, since she feels cuddles are her job.
She tries a party game where they pin hearts on her, but Stuffy pins his on Val instead. Then, they all make cards, but Val makes the best one, exacerbating Lambie's bad mood. Doc notices that Lambie isn't dancing with the others, so she gives her a check-up.
Lambie admits that she's sad and is worried that Val will usurp her as Doc's best friend and the team's Cuddle Bug. Doc tells her that having one's feelings hurt feels bad, but that no one could replace Lambie, which cheers her up. Then, the party continues.
