A man losing his eyesight confesses to finding evidence in 1953 for the murder of Bingo Zohar, whose dreams of rock 'n roll stardom were cut short when he was shot. The team digs deeper and realizes that Bingo may have been the only one he knew not faking it.

Tropes:

  • Big Jerk on Campus: Bingo's cousin JP was the golden boy of his block. He was the lead singer of a much-adored soprano group and seemingly had the idyllic Fifties family. But when Bingo swooped in and stole his thunder, not to mention uncovered the truth about his parents’ Happy Marriage Charade, JP blamed him for “ruining” everything and shot him, hoping to restore his Glory Days as the perfect boy from the perfect family.
  • Chick Magnet: The girls screamed and swooned when Bingo showed off his rock 'n roll. The white bread adults and jealous Wishing Stars were less than pleased.
  • Downer Ending: For Juliana, who is left alone in her house after the case is solved. She has lost both her youth and her family.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: A lot of Bingo’s character is based off of Elvis Presley.
  • Set Right What Once Went Wrong: The Valentine family and their neighbors were Stepford Smilers, the epitome of Fifties white Suburbia, prim, proper, and squeaky cleaner than the cleanest bar of soap. But when Bingo moved in and started shaking things up with his rock 'n roll passion and his girl-pleasing dance moves, everyone started loosening up and having fun, and Juliana started revealing how unhappy she was in her marriage. This, sadly, also earned Bingo the ire of the killer, his own cousin, who wanted things back to the way they were before.
  • Stepford Smiler: Bingo's Aunt Juliana. She talked a big game about loving her life and encouraged Bingo to abandon his dream for the sake of his future. However, she later admits that she is secretly miserable and faking her happiness while her husband has an affair, after she dropped out of college to be his Housewife, regretting not pursuing her own dream.
Juliana: My marriage is one big stinkin’ lie and I am a fool to believe otherwise.
  • Stepford Suburbia: The Philadelphia neighborhood Bingo moved to was white and prim, the epitome of the Fifties with fathers as breadwinners, pretty Housewives, and G-rated song lyrics and dance moves. Then Bingo starts shaking things up, and people seem happier and more alive than before.
