Ulrich gets tired of William always hanging out with Yumi. Odd tries to get a date with Elodie.
This episode contains examples of:
- Beach Episode: The Lyoko Warriors spend time at a beach when they are attacked by XANA, forcing them to flee.
- Continuity Nod:
- XANA makes a tarantula invisible. This is not the first time he's made enemies invisible to confuse the Lyoko Warriors.
- Jérémie reminds Odd he can deactivate towers too, and has to deactivate the tower on Lyoko, something he had to also do in the previous episode.
- XANA takes controls of peoples' phones again, this time to take over the cellphone network and make communication harder for the gang.
- Eye Beams: Discussed. Odd begs Jeremie to be able to shoot lasers from his eyes on Lyoko but gets shot down because it's not a priority.
- Indy Ploy: Ulrich goes to Lyoko alone, with only Aelita to guide him to the tower.
- Idiot Ball: Yumi manages to mistake XANA!William for the real William, while Ulrich mistakes the real William for XANA!William, despite the former looking Obviously Evil and posessed, while the latter was putting his coat back on.
- Jerkass: Ulrich and William, in equal measures. Ulrich does apologise later to him for his behaviour.
- KidAnova: Odd, as per usual. This time ringing up a girl called Elodie, which becomes a Running Gag for the episode of her rejecting Odd.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Odd points out that Ulrich and William are basically entering a sword-measuring contest to see who's best at fighting on Lyoko.
- Super-Persistent Predator: XANA!William chases Ulrich around the school as a way to bide time for the team on Lyoko.
- The Juggernaut: The door for the Gym is just torn off its hinges by XANA!William.
- The Lancer:
- Ulrich gives him this reasoning for why William is not part of the gang anymore, being too much of a loose cannon.
- Ulrich goes alone to Lyoko without William as backup.
- The Virus: Yumi gets infected with XANA code-stealing virus by way of a specter of William.
- We ARE Struggling Together: William and Ulrich are forced to work together on Lyoko, and it's clear Ulrich doesn't like it, to the point he sets up a delayed virtualisation to sort it out himself.
- Worldbuilding: This episode finally closes the issue of why the gang can't just rematerlialise back on Lyoko. Apparently there's a time limit per person of 12 hours, though it's ambiguous whether or not it's a safety protocol on the super computer, or a guideline all the warriors follow, though Jérémie's decisiveness implies the former. This also becomes a plot point, where the only people to deactivate the second tower is William and Ulrich, as the rest of them had already gone to Lyoko for the first tower.
