The San Marcos visit has gone poorly. Things grow tense between Calderon and his wife when she learns that he spent $10 million buying a million copies of Cherlene's album to make it go platinum and when he learns that she has been sleeping with Archer.

- And Now You Must Marry Me: Despite the civil war literally raging just outside of his palace, Calderon invokes his authority as dictator and chief justice of the San Marcos supreme court to summarily divorce his wife Juliana and marry Cherlene, with whom he is infatuated.
- Comeback Tomorrow: When Pam throws Malory's luggage down the staircase, Archer responds with the Running Gag "Wait, I had something for this." Serves as a
Genius Bonus, since the French term for this trope, l'esprit d'escalier, literally translates to "spirit of the staircase." - Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: When tasked with retrieving a vehicle for escape, Cyril tries to find a good enough one so Malory doesn't do this, because that is "classic her". He brings a tank over a line of luxury cars, but Malory does exactly this because it's practical but boring, which pisses him off greatly.
- Disney Death: Pam is shot in the chest in a dramatic sequence, only to reveal that she was wearing Cyril's bulletproof vest... only for Archer to remind her that Kevlars aren't reusable, and she managed to survive the shot naturally.
- Dumbass Has a Point: When Lana wants to leave Calderon's manor, it's Archer who points out that they are literally in the middle of a war zone.
- Overlaps with Everyone Has Standards when Cherlene calls Calderon out for being a dictator.
- Hidden Heart of Gold: For all of Archer’s jerkass tendencies, he is saddened when Pam is seemingly dead for taking a literal bullet for him.
- Judge, Jury, and Executioner: Calderon reveals he is the chief justice of San Marcos in addition to being its chief executive. He mainly uses it to officiate his own marriages to and divorces. He plans on divorcing his current Hot Consort Juliana and declares Cherlene is his new wife, following after the former reveals that she slept with Archer.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: After the Slow "NO!" where Pam takes the bullet meant for Archer, Archer calls Pam's name still in slow motion. He takes notice and clears his throat before calling Pam's name again with his normal voice.
- "Shut Up!" Gunshot: Archer used this on Cyril and a chandelier when Juliana and Lana, respectively, tried to out Archer for his affair with Juliana.
- Tank Goodness: Cyril chooses a tank as an escape vehicle, only for Malory to shoot down the suggestion. He soon turns it on Archer before the latter tries to take over like he often does.
- Taking the Bullet: Pam does this for Archer when Calderon shoots at him after learning that he slept with Juliana Calderon, his wife.
- Ungrateful Bitch: Even under siege, Malory complains to Cyril about choosing a tank as an ideal escape vehicle instead of one of Calderon's many luxury cars. Cyril's response is this:Cyril: Jesus God, woman, nothing IS EVER! GOOD ENOUGH! FOR YOU!!Archer: Right?
- Wham Shot: Just as Archer tries to take over the tank Cyril was driving, Cyril aims the turret at him.
