Where are they all gonna sleep?

To lighten his load, Jake takes advantage of the new power his grandfather just taught him to create doppelgangers that can perform some of his responsibilities for himself. In the process, Jake accidentally creates an evil doppelganger who seeks to take over the Magical World... and Jake's very life!

This episode provides examples of:

  • Clone Angst: As each of the good chi clones develops a distinct personality dependent on the set of tasks they've been uniquely assigned, Jake finds himself unable to actually swap back with a clone without said clone feeling like he has no purpose anymore.
  • Cloning Splits Attributes: The more Jake splits his chi, the weaker he becomes. This also works inversely when Dark Chi Jake absorbs the rest of the Light Chi copies.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: Yang Jake's voice is a slightly lower tone than Jake's.
  • Evil Tastes Good: Yang Jake's response to absorbing Cougar Scout Jake? "Yummy".
  • Fireball Eyeballs: One of the first hints that Yang Jake is evil is when his eyes start flashing fire. His eyes stay flaming when he's in dragon form.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Trixie gets halfway through explaining to Jake that he doesn't need to create doppelgangers in order to impress his friends before getting distracted by how talented Double Dutch Jake is.
  • Kill and Replace: Yang Jake has his eyes set on Jake after absorbing all the other doppelgangers, and almost succeeded.
  • Literal Split Personality: Played with. While the main Jake keeps all aspects of his personality, each of his doppelgangers embodies a specific aspect of what he needs them for. There's a jump-roping clone, a spelling bee clone, a tea party clone, and a Cougar Scout clone. Not to mention the evil clone-clone.
  • Mark of the Supernatural: The good chi clones are all paler than the original. Doubles as a Red Right Hand for Yang Jake who has a darker tan than his original.
  • Me's a Crowd: Jake makes several doppelgangers of himself. Examples include Cougar Scout Jake, Double Dutch Jake, and of course, Yang Jake.
  • Something Only They Would Say: Played for Laughs when Trixie and Spud discover Jake's doppelgangers.
Spud: How do we know that this one’s the real Jake Long, and not the other one?
    Jake: Spud, trust me.
Spud: I could trust you… or you could tell me what my favorite possession is!
(Beat as the doppelgangers all give him an odd look)
Jake: A ball of bellybutton lint you've been collecting since you were 3.
Spud: Eugh, that's disgusting! And also correct, so I'm choosing to believe you for now. But I'll be keeping my eye on you.
  • Stealth Pun: The only way to tell the difference between the real Jake and his clones is that the clones are paler than him. They are pale imitations of him.
  • The Stinger: Spud muses on what it'd be like if he could make doppelgangers of himself.
  • Two Scenes, One Dialogue: The prologue is a montage of scenes where Jake is complaining he has to do something before being cut off to show him actually doing said activity.
  • Wham Line: Jake, after failing to get all the doppelgängers, hopes that at the very least he no longer has to worry about Yang Jake. But then, Yang Jake enters revealing that there is one more Jake for him to consume…
    Yang Jake: The original!
