When Julien and friends have a little jam session, he decides to form a band and take the act public, even though none of them can play at all.Realizing they at least look like a decent band, Ted has Timo use technology to fix their performance and turn them into a island-wide sensation.

- Auto-Tune: Timo makes heavy use of electronics to completely change the band's performance, which Clover objects to.
- Dramatic Thunder: Rob takes a cue from Doctor S when he plans to expose Julien as a fraudRob: Check it. The New Wiper Fluid is a lie! And I will expose them for who they really are! (maniacal laughter) Lightning strike! (Dramatic Thunder).
- Boy Band: "The New Wiper Fluid" becomes a parody of one of these.
- The Cameo: Puss In Boots shows up briefly as part of the band audition.
- Dreadful Musician: The New Wiper Fluid pre-autotuning, oh so very much.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: How The New Wiper Fluid, Ted, Willie and Horst sound like before autotuning. Considering that Julien, Maurice and Ted were shown to be at least decent singers in the past and Willie's and Horst's voice actor can sing (he even sung in the previous Madagascar spin off and it sounded pretty good), it's definitely this trope.
- In Medias Res: The episode opens with the band being chased down by a crowd, and cuts to the story of how they got started.
- Vaudeville Hook: But since it's a rat-based venue, they use a mousetrap to drag bad acts away.
