Continued from De Schat Van Toet Kat Kammon (The Riddle Of The Pyramid)

After escaping all the traps in the pyramid, Alfred and Paljas' time is running out and they have to find other options. The two visit a fortune teller who presents them with a solution.

Tropes:

  • Egypt Is Still Ancient: It turns out that the Ancient Egyptians have maintained their culture into the present day and are maintaining The Masquerade.
  • Hypno Fool: Paljas succesfully hypnotizes the snake, turning it rock solid. Alfred tries to use the snake to wedge the stone door before the snake wakes up. They threaten the snake with more hypnoses to force him to help them find their way out.
  • Indy Escape: Alfred and Professor Paljas have to deal with a giant boulder threatening to crush them while exploring a pyramid.
  • Modest Royalty: Professor Ramses is apparently somehow related to the Pyramidland royal family, but lives anonymously in Waterland. For that matter, so do the rest of the Egyptian royal family, who appear as normal citizens to outsiders.
  • National Animal Stereotypes: The Ancient Egyptians are all cats.
  • Non Sequitur Environment: Alfred and Professor Paljas are walking through a featureless corridor in the pyramid which ends in a huge drop. When they attempt to go back, the path they just walked on has disappeared. This is because they are actually hallucinating.
  • Never Trust a Title:
    • The snake is only there for maybe a minute, and doesn't really do anything (unless the smoke it blew resulted in the hallucinations Alfred and Von Paljas experienced).
    • The finnish title translates to something like "In the pyramid's labyrinth". Except that they don't spend even half the episode lost or even inside the pyramid.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: A snake tries to kill Alfred and Dr. Paljas by emitting a pink smoke to make them suffocate, presumably so it can then eat them.
  • Sundial Waypoint: The secret entry point to the Pharaoh's throne room in the pyramid is only visible at high noon when a mirror reflects the light.
  • Surprise Slide Staircase: When Alfred and Professor Paljas explore an Egyptian pyramid and get lost, they find themselves on a stairwell that suddenly turns into a slide. They manage to hold on thanks to Paljas' cane, but then they hear a rumbling sound approaching from above.
  • Uncanny Family Resemblance: The seer living in the Land of Pyramids looks identical to professor Ramses, and is apparently his cousin.
  • The Walls Are Closing In: Alfred and Professor Paljas are walking down a dark corridor in the pyramid when giant blocks begin to move towards them from both the front and back. They manage to climb on top of them, but this is then repeated several times with blocks moving in from several different directions to crush them until they realize that it's all a hypnotic trance.
