Brain Leak is a podcast started in 2023 by Jacksepticeye and Ethan Nestor. The podcast is essentially the two running their publicly diagnosed ADHD run free, as well as for them to make jokes they would never get away with on YouTube.

Brain Leak leaks tropes such as:

  • Abandoned Catchphrase: Sort-of. Earlier episodes used to have a section called "Bad Advice", but this section was dropped with no reason as to why in later episodes.
  • About the Author: One of the episode's topics is discussing how Sean and Ethan are past their prime. Another has them get weirded out about their mannerisms.
  • A Boy, a Girl, and a Baby Family: If said baby is BB, this counts for Sean, Evelyn and BB.
  • Absurd Brand Name: Played straight as the sponsor is legitametely called Nuts.com, but Played for Laughs considering Ethan has a severe nut allergy.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The subject of many an episode's sections. Played significantly straight when Open AI's film AI came out.
  • Ascended Fanboy: This could apply to Ethan himself, just not to Sean. Ethan did a backflip at one of Markiplier's panels, and the two have since become friends, as well as Ethan and Sean becoming friends, which led to them starting Brain Leak. It also might've helped that their other friends: Bob, Wade, and Mark himself, were busy making Distractible.
  • Ascended Meme:
    • The episode called "Ethan's Apology Song" opens with Ethan signing a parody of The Toxic Gossip Train song.
    • In mid-October, the two joke about making an episode where the camera's focus would be on their feet. They called the episode the "TOEPISODE" as a joke. Low and behold, on the 22nd of November, the TOEPISODE was actually released.
  • Audience Participation: This used to happen with the Bad Advice segment, although this has since been dropped.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: The skydiving episode discusses how Ethan's friend goes out of his way to skydive in order to look cool on a Zoom call for a job interview, only for his job interviewer to answer the call after he landed.
  • Bait-and-Switch: The first episode's synopsis states that the episode would focus on what the podcast will be about, and while this is technically true, it lures the audience into thinking, at the very least, the first episode would be calmer. Cue Sean almost immediately comedically asking Ethan for his views on gun control, and the premise is revealed immediately.
  • Be Careful What You Say: In numerous previous episodes, the boys ask their viewers/listeners to send them their mannerisms. Their innocent request comes back to severely bite them in the ass.
  • Christmas Special: The "MERRY LEAKMAS" episode, released on December 20th, 2023.
  • Disney Owns This Trope: Played for Laughs with the episode literally titled "Disney Might Sue Us For This!", as the episode's main subject was that of the big news of Steamboat Willie going Public Domain.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The second episode is dedicated to the events of the 2nd Creator Clash, not only because Sean commentated on the event, but Ethan also won.
    • The Arin Hanson episode focuses on The Lord of the Rings Magic: The Gathering deck, especially the fact that the elusive singular One Ring card had been found.
    • The 1st of November 2023 episode is an episode fully dedicated to Five Nights at Freddy's.
    • Multiple episodes have nods to Grand Theft Auto VI.
    • The Alanah Pearce episode throws out a nod to the show How It's Made.
    • The episode "LET THE SPICE FLOW" is dedicated to Dune.
    • The episode "Welcome to the LEAKTRIX" is dedicated to The Matrix.
  • Special Guest:
    • "One Card to Rule Them All w/ Arin Hanson of Game Grumps.
    • "Jarvis Johnson Lived in the Metaverse for a Week"
    • "AlanahPearce Talks About the Game of the Year!"
    • "Talking To Our Best Friend with Justin Tracey."
    • "Ranboo Got Scammed!"
    • MatPat has also confirmed during his final theory that he has been scheduled to appear at some point.
  • St. Patrick's Day Episode: The episode titled "Sean Fails A St. Paddy's Day Quiz"
