Basic Trope: Expensive and/or exotic cars will get damaged; or destroyed.
- Straight: Bob and Charlie are chasing down the Monster of the Week; during the chase, they accidentally cause Alice to lose control of her Cool Car and crash it.
- Exaggerated:
- A one-of-a-kind car gets destroyed.
- Expensive cars getting destroyed is a Running Gag.
- Alice's car is a Chronically Crashed Car.
- Every single expensive car gets destroyed regardless of the situation.
- Downplayed: Bob and Charlie accidentally cause Alice to dent her car.
- Justified:
- The Monster of the Week is a Gold Digger, so they are naturally attracted to expensive objects.
- Hey, you go to the Wrong Side of the Tracks on a car so rare a single hubcap could feed a family for a year and you see what happens.
- The cast's enemies are Jerkasses who would smash anything they use as transportation. It's just bad luck that it's Alice's car.
- The car is cool and expensive and unsafe at high speeds. A crash was just a matter of time. Getting in a chase with the idiot backseat drivers just worsened the odds.
- The car is cursed and it attracts any and every possible danger, almost as if it seems like some kind of non-sapient Death Seeker.
- Inverted:
- All Alleged Cars get destroyed, but not the rich ones.
- The entire city except Alice's car is destroyed, somehow.
- Subverted: Alice is about to crash her car, but manages to stop in time.
- Double Subverted: Only for a billboard to fall on it.
- Parodied: Alice eventually gives up on paying for repairs every time, and buys a new car separate from her old one, which continues to get even more wrecked as the series goes on.
Try to not crash the expensive unabridged version here.
