Basic Trope: When a woman orgasms, it is very, very loud.

  • Straight: Bob gives Alice an orgasm, and she screams out his name.
  • Exaggerated: Bob gives Alice an orgasm, and people complain about the noise from six miles away.
  • Downplayed: Alice's orgasm is quite audible, but you probably couldn't hear her through a solid wall.
  • Justified:
    • Bob is just that good.
    • Alice is putting on a show.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted:
  • Double Subverted: However, that's still just build-up for the orgasm. The actual orgasm is loud.
  • Parodied:
    • The ensuing soundwave sets the alarms of all cars in a 50-mile radius, breaks the glass in all of the building, and causes an air raid siren to go off.
    • Alice is a certain kind of superhero. Bob's head explodes.
    • Alice squeals and grunts like a pig when she orgasms.
    • Bob (the bartender) gives Alice a Screaming Orgasm (the drink)...and Alice screams so loud the whole bar is staring at her.
  • Zig Zagged: Alice is loud during orgasm, which her therapist "cures". Bob misses her loudness, so she starts faking it, but then the neighbours start complaining and they're forced to keep it down, until they decide to "screw it" and the therapy's results are suddenly gone.
  • Averted:
    • Alice doesn't orgasm during sex.
    • The orgasm is actually done realistically.
  • Enforced: The writers want to make it clear that Alice is having an orgasm.
  • Lampshaded:
  • Invoked:
    • Alice fakes a loud orgasm, so that Bob can feel good about himself.
    • Bob was aiming to fuck Alice until she screamed.
  • Exploited: Bob gives Alice an orgasm to piss off the neighbours, whom he hates.
  • Defied: Knowing that the neighbours will complain, Bob gags Alice.
  • Discussed: Bob and Alice go upstairs. Carol and Dave talk about (or take bets on) how loud she'll probably be.
  • Conversed: Bob and Alice are having a conversation about the faked orgasms in porn.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Bob goes deaf from Alice's orgasms.
    • Alice and Bob get multiple complaints for disturbing the peace, which stresses their relationship.
    • Advertisement:
    • Alice has Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder, which causes her to have head-to-toe screaming orgasms at the most inopportune times. Bob, who was once enamored with it, has become creeped out by it and has broken up with Alice because of it.
    • Alice loses her voice during one of her screaming orgasms and Bob can't get it up if Alice is mute.
  • Reconstructed:
    • Alice and Bob move to the country, where their neighbors don't live right next to them.
    • Alice goes to a physical therapist to get her P.G.A.D under control and it works.
    • Bob learns to appreciate Alice's modest, voiceless orgasms, Alice gets her voice back, or Alice finds another way to express her sexual pleasure.
  • Implied: "I couldn't sleep at all last night. The couple next door kept me up with all the shouting and screaming... Makes me wonder how loud she gets when they fight."
  • Played For Laughs: Alice shatters anything and everything considered breakable in the house (glass, porcelain, the drywall, etc).
  • Played For Drama: Alice and Bob are cops who just survived a firefight with criminals and her screams are part of a Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex scene.

Ohhh. OHHHH. OHHHHHHHHHHH! Oh, was I too loud?
