Basic Trope: A sex scene that comes out of nowhere and serves little purpose.
- Straight: Alice and Bob spontaneously have sex for no discernible reason.
- Exaggerated: Alice and Bob are extras. The audience doesn't even know if their names are Alice and Bob. Nor do we know if they know each other.
- Downplayed:
- There is a little build up to the sex scene, but not very much.
- There's no sex scene, but instead a brief segment during which Alice is casually masturbating out of boredom.
- Justified:
- Alice and Bob tried to have something before, but they were distracted at the last moment all those times, so when they manage to get a few free minutes, they decide to have it right here and at the moment.
- They were both exposed to something that induced extreme lust, so...
- The Story Arc starts with Alice and Bob having sex with each other, despite barely being able to talk to each other previously. And then Alice wakes up. The whole thing turns out to have been an Erotic Dream, which don't follow the various rules of storytelling and was fueled entirely by her sexual frustration and lust.
- Captain Courage just happened to pass by Alice and Bob's house during his nightly patrol as they were doing the deed.
- Inverted: Alice and Bob refuse to have sex even though it would make a lot of sense and be very climatic for them to do so.
- Subverted: The scene goes on for a while and at first it seems like it's random, but then an important plot element pops up...
- Double Subverted: But Alice and Bob aren't interested in talking about it right now. They return to plotless sex.
- Parodied: ???
- Zig Zagged: A minor detail is introduced via the scene. Fans hotly debate weather or not that detail is significant.
- Averted:
- Alice and Bob don't have sex at all.
- Alice and Bob have a Sexy Discretion Shot.
- Enforced: Porn with Plot. Or a hard case of Author Appeal.
- Lampshaded: "Looks like both of you hadn't been laid for a long time, right?"
- Invoked: You Need to Get Laid.
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: Alice proposes having an intercourse right here and right now, but Bob declines her proposal, citing that he has no time or wish for it. Or vice versa.
- Discussed: "So, lovebirds, you got some time to relax before going to fight crime again. Shall I leave you alone to not disturb ya two?"
- Conversed: "Anyone can explain why sometimes this series looks more like porn with some shoehorned sidekick story?"
- Deconstructed: Alice and Bob were too, erm, busy to notice Mr. Mennacer's henchmen coming after them.
- Reconstructed: After fighting said henchmen off (cue Full-Frontal Assault, by the way) or escaping them (cue Streaking and Naked People Are Funny), next time they make sure no one is going to disturb them (hiding well, closing doors, shutting windows, double-checking there are no suspicious persons wandering around, etc.).
