Even a hilarious movie such as Dumb and Dumber has its fair share of frightening moments.
- Sea Bass attempting to rape and kill Lloyd in the bathroom stall. It doesn't help that that scene is Played for Laughs.
- There is an extended version of this scene in the unrated version. Which gives you a lovely shot of Sea Bass' underwear.
- Lloyd repeatedly saying "Find a happy place" arguably makes the scene even more uncomfortable to watch.
- Mental murdering Harry's parakeet just to give him a message. Tellingly, he's the only one of the villains who actually dies.
- While it's all Played for Laughs, the scene of Lloyd shooting Mary's husband can be very unexpected on your first watch.
- Mental's death, and it's caused by Lloyd feeding him rat poison instead of his pills. Once again, it's Played for Laughs. But imagine if this actually happened in real life.
- Harry is also paranoid that Mental will kill him.
