Tiger Lily and the Secret Treasure of Neverland is a 2023 middle grade fantasy fiction novel written by Indigenous Canadian Cherie Dimaline. The book is a spin-off from the 1953 Disney animated film Peter Pan, but more politically correct and told from the perspective of the character Princess Tiger Lily, an Indigenous girl living in Neverland who kissed Peter during a celebration in the film.

Tiger Lily lives with her tribe in Neverland, and they are the only people there who have the power to grow up. Tiger Lily prefers to stay 13 years old though, and she decides to undertake a "grown-up" mission while staying true to herself, hoping to keep pirates from stealing the land's treasure.

This book contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Adaptation Deviation: The characters and their tribe in this book are much more developed and feature less stereotypes than the 1953 film did; in addition, it was adapted and written by an Indigenous author.
  • Badass Native: Princess Tiger Lily, who is very much more developed and strong as a character in this book than in the original film she appeared in.
  • Big Bad: The pirates.
  • Coming of Age Story: This is the gist of the book, with the twist that these characters can choose whether to "grow up" or not.
  • Non-Human Sidekick: Tiger Lily has a beloved horse in this adaptation, which is almost always at her side.
