Arcana Magi Universe, written by H-M Brown, is a variety of Web Original prose stories, from Web Serial Novels to Short Stories. Started in 2009, it involves The Four Gods and the teenage girls or young women associated with them as they get caught up in adventures and world changing situations. While some of the typical Magical Girl stereotypes, like the Transformation Trinket and Mini Dress Of Power, are commonly found in some Arcana Magi stories, the series approaches with their place in their respective worlds where situations like prejudice, generation gaps, and society's perspective on magic exist.
Due to the fact that few of the stories in Arcana Magi Universe are related to each other, but not in others, they were separated into four universes named after each of the The Four Gods. In a unique twist, one universe shares a distinct trait with two universes, but not with one, creating an opposing universe. For example, the setting of Merydia is featured in the Byakko Universe, Suzaku Universe, and Genbu Universe, but not in the Seiryu Universe. As for opposing universes, one example is that in the Byakko Universe there is more focus on Magitek, but in the Seiryu Universe, it's the opposite—there is no Magitek present at all.
On the 5th Anniversary of Arcana Magi Universe, a new world was established based on Kōryū, the rarely used fifth god in Japanese lore. It is unknown at this time where the Koryu Universe fits in within the entire universe structure.
