Compared to Ringing Bell and The Kindly Lion, this short is considered to be one of Takashi Yanase's most lighthearted and sweetest works. Since Sanrio Animation worked on this short, it's expected to see tons of heartwarming and adorable moments.
- Joe's first imagination/dream sequence where he's imagining himself dating The Rose Flower, throwing hearts at each other, holding hands as their floating, and dancing on top of clouds.
- After Joe prevents the black crow from attacking The Rose Flower for the first time. The Rose congratulates Joe by giving him a cheek, which causes Joe to turn completely pink and float up into the air surrounded by hearts.
- Another dream sequence shows Joe preparing to jump from a high diving board high up the sky. He gets nervous and almost falls, but the Rose Flower suddenly appears in the background to give the puppy some confidence◊. This causes Joe to become pumped up and finally makes the jump.
- Joe's loyalty to the Rose Flower by going the extra mile to protect it. Such as using his body as a shield to prevent The Rose Flower from getting struck by lighting (which he takes the hit).
- After successfully luring away the black crow alongside the red and blue crows. Joe runs back to The Rose Flower and happily barks at it. The Rose is then seen feeding him a water droplet from the thunderstorm that occurred earlier that day.
- While also a Tear Jerker, near the end of the short, Joe (now permanently blind, and later ends up extremely weak and dying after his final confrontation with the crow) manages to reunite with The Rose Flower. She apologizes but Joe tells her not to worry since he can "see better now" and still able to smell her. After talking to The Rose for the final time, he passes away peacefully seconds apart from The Rose's death. After we see Joe and The Rose Flower get covered in snow, we see Joe (now as an angel) reuniting with The Rose Flower in heaven with Joe immediately kissing her alongside kissing her petals.
