  • Is it ever explained how the summoning works in terms of taking the heroes out of their own worlds and timelines and why the summoned heroes are okay with this beyond having to obey, which on its own seems like some kind of forced servitude? Sure some of them died and were summoned, but many others basically are forced to abandon their responsibilities, wives, husbands, children, nation, friends, etc. and don't even seem to have an assurance they will go back eventually. How are their worlds faring without them seems like something that should be a concern, especially when at this point so many of them have been taken out of their worlds. I realize to some degree this needs to be ignored for the game to work, bu it seems like the grounds for a ton of angst and fridge horror. I've read a bit about characters at times acknowledging some of these things, but no real answers. For instance, is there a plan to return everyone to their worlds and times at the end as if they were never taken to begin with? The mainline game Engage gets around this by explaining that Emblems are created spirit beings distinct from the original heroes (despite them often not acting like they are), but that's apparently not the case in Heroes.
    • To begin with, Kiran summons actual heroes from across FE multiverse; if said heroes are dead or bodiless (and not undead) they will be given a physical form as well. The process of summoning automatically forces "No Friendly Fire" rule and a form of subtle brainwashing that makes the summons willing to listen to Kiran. Notably, it does not override their free will, since Forging Bonds shows that characters can decide to do their own thing. The presence of "Send Home" button suggests that Kiran can and likely does send people back if they are unwilling to stay in Askr. Those that stay do so because a) they want to help. b) they want to fight. c) the Order of Heroes provides them with unique opportunities. d) they can reunite with their loved ones. e) they have nothing better to do. The main theory in-universe seems to be that unsummoned heroes return in the same place and time they were summoned from.
