  • The song "I'm Only Thinking Of Him", which consists of Alonso Quijano's niece and housekeeper talking to the priest about how worried they are for him, when it's blatantly obvious that they're primarily acting on selfish reasons. The priest responds with delightful sarcasm via exaggeration. Ian Richardson gives some hilarious facial expressions in the film.
  • The entire play is performed by a cell full of criminals. Watching grubby scraggly miscreants acting like ogres, gypsies, and priests is hysterical.
  • Within the show itself, "Knight of the Woeful Countenance" and "I Like Him" are hysterical.
  • De la Mancha decides he can see a mighty ogre (in fact, a windmill) represented to the audience by a silhouette on the wall. He charges offstage at it and Sancho can only watch, bemused,as we hear crashing and yelling, before the knight returns, looking distinctly worse for wear.
