Hope's Berserk Button of broken trust. For the first few episodes after Landon breaks her trust, Hope acts cold and indifferent to him even at one point plotted his death. Some viewers and Alaric thought she was taking things too far after finding out about the death spell. However it should been pointed out the last time Hope trusted a guy she liked her mom died and figuring she didn't know Landon's true intentions about keeping everything a secret. She figured killing him would be the best option since the rest of her family did that in the past and the last two years after being orphaned and not killing everyone who had a hand in that only made her more vengeful. Also not counting in her werewolf factor, she's also Klaus' daughter and some of his dark tendencies indirectly passed down to Hope, plus he did help Hope get revenge on the Nazis Vampires back on The Originals.

In the first episode, Penelope nearly entices MG into biting and drinking blood from her. When MG finally does drink from a human, he shows ripper tendencies. Had Josie not interrupted them, MG likely would have killed Penelope.
Hope sacrificing herself and getting erased by Malivore is terrifying, especially since it mean that her family won't remember her.
Confirmed in season 2, when Josie visits Hope's aunt Freya, who has pictures of Hope but can't remember who she is. When Freya helps Josie figure out the spell to restore memories, Josie hits Freya with the spell to get her to remember her niece. At the end of that episode, Freya visits Mystic Falls to reunite with Hope.
Cleo created a golem of Landon to distract Hope so that she won't open a portal to the prison world and bring Malivore back out. On some level, Cleo may have committed sexual assault on Hope.
