Fridge for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, this game's prequel, is available here.

Fridge Brilliance

  • The game title actually functions as a Double-Meaning Title:
    • In-universe, Aqua traverses (passage) the destroyed remains (fragmentary) of worlds from the Realm of Light, which have been absorbed by the Realm of Darkness.
    • Out of universe, the game is actually Nomura's salvaging whatever he planned for the teased Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Vol. 2, so much so the game is but a fragment of could have been. Also, the game is a passage (as in, an excerpt) of KH 2.8.

  • Why is Goofy the only one who has heard Yen Sid whispering, "May your hearts be your guiding key?" He's a DOG- he has the best hearing of the SDG trio!

Fridge Horror

  • Considering that the worlds fall to the Realm of Darkness exactly the way they were destroyed in the Realm of Light, that means that Enchanted Dominion, Aurora's home world, was infested by Maleficent's thorny vines before the princess was captured and the world destroyed by the Heartless - which is possibly one of Maleficent's early offscreen victories.
  • Snow White's world, Dwarf Woodlands, is in the Realm of Darkness. The Spirit of the Magic Mirror is nowhere to be seen, yet the Magic Mirror is still active, and its inner dimension is a visitable location (as the Boss Area of the Phantom Aqua). It is possible that the Realm of Darkness itself hijacked the mirror's magic powers and created the World Within scenario and the Phantom Aqua boss fights, as a way to weaken Aqua's resolve and convert her as another inhabitant of that dark realm. The implication is that not only are the Pureblood Heartless after her (since she is a living being with a heart in their domain), but the domain itself is also after her.
