Fridge Brilliance:

  • Madison uses a ball peen hammer as a primary weapon. This is actually a far better choice of weapon than a clawed hammer as both ends are capable of dealing blunt force trauma, and highly unlikely to perforate the skull with a violent strike, due to the back end being rounded rather than pointed.

Fridge Horror:

  • How hard must Matt's parents have pushed it to get back to L.A., struggling upstream on highways jammed with people fleeing the city and fighting their way through the increasingly-chaotic streets, only to get attacked by the walker of their own son as soon as they opened their house's front door?
  • Although Travis broke the prisoners out of their cells at the command post, the group left them in a situation with no clear way out. The front entrance is filled with a horde of walkers, more walkers are present in various wings (and are only being held off by flimsy defenses, like a broomhandle stuck through a door), and the one woman who knew how to leave the facility has most likely killed herself. This makes Strand's comment that the prisoners were safer inside somewhat prophetic.
  • The little girl in "The Dog," the one who spotted Nick as he was attempting to steal drugs and forced him to rethink his actions for the time being? She was among those that died when the military abandoned the suburb.
  • Within one season, a whole city is outraged when they believe that the police have unjustly killed a homeless man. The old life for the main characters, as imperfect as it was, held the widespread belief that each individual life mattered. They can no longer afford that worldview after the walkers start rising. By the end of the season, they ruthlessly let mass populations die in order to ensure their own survival.
  • The cosmonaut that manages to reach Strand has resigned himself to the fact that he will eventually die. Not only will he not be able to return home, but there is a strong possibility that he has been infected and will turn into a zombie once he dies.
  • At the end of Season 6, Daniel and his group are rescued by The CRM before the nuclear warheads go off and are taken to safety. That's great and all... until you remember how ruthless the group is in The Walking Dead: World Beyond and the fates of anyone who turns within their borders. Better hope they're the B, and not an A...
