Fridge Brilliance

  • Filia stealing Gugalanna from Fate/Grand Order's Ishtar has a precedent: in myth, Ishtar stole Enki's mes (divine decrees granting him power over many aspects of civilization); here she, through her puppet, just did the same to her own FGO counterpart.
  • Richard being the designated Saberface (albeit an Arthurface) fits right in with the True/False themes of the Holy Grail War. While he may be the True Saber, he's little more than a bootleg Artoria — a fact he himself admits. This is further shown through resembling an alternate offshoot of her rather than the real deal, his fanboyism unconsciously extending to being the Servant of a version of one of Arthur's Masters, and his Excalibur being whatever sword he says it is.
  • It's no surprise that Richard is fluent in French, Italian, and Persian but is bad at English: the Plantagenet dynasty was from Normandy and their first language was French (indeed, the first king of England whose first language was English would be Henry IV, reigning from 1399 to 1413), Italian was the basis of the Lingua Franca, the Common Tongue spoken in the Mediterranean, and Persian was a widespread language among the Muslims, while English was the language of the commoners with whom he wouldn't speak often. He was a native speaker of French and had uses for Italian (or rather Lingua Franca) and Persian but not English, so he never developed fluency in the latter.

Fridge Horror

  • Filia, or rather Ishtar possessing her, stole a Noble Phantasm from her FGO counterpart, and locked the portals of Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon. In myth, Ishtar was known for stealing the powers of other gods. Sleep well.
