In 1972, a pornographic movie called The Adult Version of Jekyll and Hide was released. This movie is, for the most part, typical soft-core porn, with a number of sex scenes alternating with actual plot. Though soft-core, be warned that the movie does mix violence and sex. Doctor Chris Leeder (Jack Buddliner, a.k.a. John Barnum) is having an affair with his office assistant Debbie (Rene Bond) while engaged to the wealthy Cynthia Carson (Jennifer Brooks, a.k.a. Laurie Rose). Chris and Cynthia go shopping at an old west antique dealer where Chris notices an old journal of Dr. Henry Jeckyll. Chris returns at night to purchase the journal, but the shopkeeper refuses to sell it. Chris murders the shopkeeper and takes the journal. He recreates Jekyll's formula and transforms into an attractive woman that is just as homicidal as he is. While detective Ruso (Jude Farese) begins tracking down the shopkeeper's murderer, Leeder/Hide kills two girls and cuts off one sailor's large penis. Miss Hide decides to kill Cynthia, and the detective must get to them before she can accomplish this.
The Adult Version of Jeckyll and Hide provides examples of:

- Gender Bender: Jekyll's formula turns Dr. Leeder into Miss Hide.
- Jekyll & Hyde: Somewhat different here in that both Jekyll and Hyde (Leeder and Hide) are homicidal.
- Professor Guinea Pig: Leeder tested his experimental formula on himself.
- Sex Is Evil, and I Am Horny: Leeder is cheating on his fiance, and Hide picks up a sailor just to have sex then mutilate him.
