Cruise is an American romance feature film directed by Robert D Siegel, released on September 28, 2018. It stars Spencer Boldman, Emily Ratajkowski, Lucas Salvagno, Noah Robbins, Gino Cafarelli, Kathrine Narducci and Sebastian Maniscalco.

In the summer of 1987, when working-class Italian-American Gio Fortunato (Boldman) has little on his mind but racing cars and chasing girls. One night he crosses paths with Jessica Weinberg (Ratajkowski), a sophisticated college girl from Long Island looking for thrills on the wrong side of the tracks. They embark on an unlikely summer romance that turns Gio's carefree world upside-down.

Cruise provides examples of the following tropes:

  • The '80s: The movie is specifically set in 1987.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Jessica's friends are visibly intrigued when Gio comes up to her calling her Francesca, and Jessica herself becomes more interested in him when she gets to ride in his car during a race and later join him in stealing a car radio.
  • Auto Erotica: There are at least four instances of Gio engaging in sexual acts in his car, two of them with Jessica.
  • Cargo Envy: Mentioned by Gio when he first sees Francesca, who at the time is having a cone of soft-serve vanilla ice cream.
Gio: Ooh. That is one lucky cone.
  • Living a Double Life: Jessica at the start of the film, taking on the sexually-liberated "bad girl alias" of Francesca at night.
  • Maybe Ever After: The movie ends with Jessica introducing Gio as her boyfriend to her parents, before the two drive off back to Whitestone. It's not outright stated whether they stayed together after the events shown in the film, but at least they seem willing to give it a go.
  • Title Drop: Done by the radio DJ on the very first scene. "Get out of the yard and onto the boulevard to cruise!"
  • Uptown Girl: Jessica is noticeably better off financially than auto-parts store clerk Gio.
