These are recommendations made by Tropers for Carmilla fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be zapped. Nobody would back up the rec.   • Synopsis: The tale of Carmilla didn't end with the novel. This is what happened after.
  • Comments: It's a cute and imaginative story. The author manages to find a way to Carmilla survive her death on the novella, and is a sweeter story that the original book.

  • Comments: Illuminates the mystery of why Carmilla have gone behind Laura.

  • Synopsis: Long after the time of her first account, a much older Laura contemplates the past.
  • Comments: It's a well-written, with a melancholy air everywhere. The old Laura is lonely as the original novella, now only perturbed with his memories about her, clearly Carmilla, than never seems but is ubiquitous throughout history. Very good.

  • Synopsis: ...to this hour the image of Carmilla returns to memory with ambiguous alternations—sometimes the playful, languid, beautiful girl; sometimes the writhing fiend I saw in the ruined church; and often from a reverie I have started, fancying I heard the light step of Carmilla at the drawing room door.

  • Comments: A reimagining of the original story, keep true to the original characters by giving them more development and new motivations to Carmilla claim Laura.

  • Synopsis: Carmilla as a lepidopterist.
  • Comments: Carmilla says in the book: "Girls are caterpillars while they live in the world, to be finally butterflies when the summer comes; (...) each with their peculiar propensities, necessities, and structure." This story explores this affirmation in great detail. Narrated by Carmilla, she compare the girls to butterfly of deterministic and poetic way. A good read.

  • Comments: Even without the presence of Carmilla is fic can be interesting to show how broken and perturbed Laura was after Carmilla.
