Fanfic / She Rain The Portal

SheRa In the Portal is an AU canon divergent fanfic that takes place after "The Portal". The ship is Adora/Glimmer.

Queen Angella allows Adora to stay in the portal. Now the Rebellion must continue without She-Ra. Glimmer is determined to bring back Adora, but that might require Entrapta's help, even though the Princess of Dryl had worked for the Horde prior to the portal going off.

Tropes that showed up in the story so far:

• Angst: Glimmer is unhappy because Adora stayed behind in the portal.
• ArmorPiercingResponse: In Chapter 4, Glimmer asks Catra a question that leaves her stunned for several seconds. Glimmer: "Why did you repeat Shadow Weaver's abusive behavior?"
• Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Catra is happy about Adora being gone, and like on the show, she pushes people away.
• What If?: This story goes in a different direction from The Portal onwards.
• WorldofActionGirls: Like on the show, this story is filled with ladies who kick ass. The Princess Alliance would fight their enemies using their powers. Then there is Catra, who is a dark action girl.

Now has a sequel, SheRa In Space.

Sequel summary: Following the events of "She-Ra in the Portal," Adora and Catra are stuck on the Velvet Glove. When Glimmer and Bow rescue them, a portal takes them to Eternia, an advanced planet.

Tropes:

• BadassInDistress: After being beamed onto the ship in the last chapter of She Ra In the Portal, Adora winds up being a prisoner. Because the Sword of Protection is broken, she cannot become She-Ra. Catra lampshades it.

Catra: "I bet you dropped the perfect hero act after you smashed your sword. Are you a damsel in distress now? A warrior damsel?"

• BattleCouple: Adora and Glimmer during the final battle.
• CallingTheOldManOut: In this case, a woman. Catra calls Shadow Weaver out in Chapter 8.
• EasilyForgiven: Averted with Catra's redemption arc. In Chapter 8, she apologizes to those she has hurt, but they weren't quick to accept her apology.

• TheFriendNobodyLikes: Entrapta, due to her inventions that attacked the Princess Alliance.
• TookALevelInKindness: Catra has a change of heart, although slow.
• TraumaButton: Adora has a few triggers in both works, such as being pinned to the floor and mentioning the traumatic events in her life.
