Miraculous Descendent
is a Miraculous Ladybug written by Natedogx15. Inspired by "Chloé's Lament" of The Lament Series, this fic features an alternate reality where Tom Dupain is the Mayor of Paris and the owner of Le Grand Paris and Andre Bourgeois is a baker.
Miraculous Descendent provides examples of:
- Adaptational Villainy: In canon, the kwamis are nice characters who would rather have wielders who use their powers for good and only help villains when forced. In this fic, they don't care how their wielders use their powers and those who lend their powers to villains don't have the excuse of being forced.
- Adaptational Wealth: Both Played Straight and Inverted.
- Marinette and her mother become wealthy when the latter marries Tom Dupain; Tom is also an example, as here he’s the Mayor and a hotelier instead of a baker.
- Chloé and her father, meanwhile, are not nearly as rich as they are in canon, with the Dupain-Chengs having their wealth instead.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Instead of being his daughter, Marinette is Tom Dupain's stepdaughter.
- Death by Adaptation: Master Fu is dead in this fic.
- One-Steve Limit: Nathaniel Kurtzberg and Nathanial Dupainnote . The latter asks their classmates to call him "Nate" to avoid confusion.
- Posthumous Character: Master Fu is already dead when Marinette and Adrien become Ladybug and Chat Noir.
- Related in the Adaptation: Master Fu is Marinette's ancestor in this fic.
- Revenge by Proxy: Gabriel and Emilie are former heroes who decided to keep Adrien at home out of fear their enemies would go after him to get even with them.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: In spite of their adaptational villainy, the kwamis in this fic avert it by being able to leave the Miracle Box whenever they want. They just choose not to do so until somebody solves their respective puzzles or they get tired of waiting for it to happen.
- Secret-Keeper: Nate Dupain knows Marinette is Ladybug.
- Seen It All: Tikki is as old as the universe and has seen a lot of strange and scary things and, because of that, isn't fazed by Alya's Dad being akumatized into Animan.
- Shout-Out: Gabriel claims the last time he allowed Nooroo to choose a Champion's design resulted on something that "looked like a terrible version of Willy Wonka".
- Sore Loser: In this fic, Chloé is so upset for losing the derby hat contest she's akumatized over it. The chapter where it happens is even titled "Sore Loser".
- Superman Stays Out of Gotham: Mayor Dupain thought about asking the United Heroez to help but they're too busy fighting crime in their own home nation.
