Tropes:
- Birds of a Feather: A platonic example. Taylor and Danny start to become friends due to their similarities, as lampshaded by the description.
- Ghost Town: Amity, ironically enough, is emptied and its inhabitants relocated after a so far unexplained incident.
- Immune to Fate: Danny is apparently a Path to Victory blind spot.
- Locked Out of the Loop: Due to a number of factors, apparently including the government controlling what info got in and out of Amity Park, as well as the weak barrier in Amity between Earth and the Ghost Zone causing some issues with communications, Danny was completely unaware that parahumans existed.
- Noodle Incident: Whatever led to the deal between Danny and the Guys in White and Amity residents being relocated.
- Outside-Context Problem: Danny to the cape scene, given that his half-ghost nature gives him more powers than is normal for parahumans, and has been living in a town isolated from the rest of the world, preventing Cauldron from noticing that he's a Path to Victory blind spot.
- Reality Bleed: Apparently Amity is the spot of a weak point in the boundary between the Zone and Earth.
- Rewrite: The author eventually decided that the story needed to be started over, and re-titled the original story "Proto-Deceased".
- Spared by the Adaptation: The original version of the story had Taylor dead of an accident before Danny moved to the Bay, with Danny taking her place on the Undersiders, but the rewrite version has her still alive.
- Superpower Lottery: Danny has far more powers than most Worm capes, and is strong enough that he and his friends, inexperience with Endbringer power levels aside, think that he could track down Leviathan and fight it.
- Weirdness Censor: Apparently Amity's unique properties subconsciously kept people away.
- Wrong Context Magic: Danny's ghostly abilities compared to parahuman powers.
