A Comedy of Errors is a Once Upon a Time fanfic written by wellthizizdeprezzing.

Fearing that Emma is losing interest in him, Hook goes to Gold to buy a love potion to make Emma fall in love with him. However, through a series of mishaps it ends up in Regina's drink instead and she ends up in love with Emma. However, it is eventually revealed that Regina might have genuine feelings for Emma.

It can be read on Archive of Our Own here.

Contains examples of the following:

  • Adaptational Villainy: While Hook started out as a villain in the show, he eventually turned good and became Emma's main love interest. Here Hook is willing to use a potion to force Emma to fall in love with him, something that is far worse than anything he has done in the show even as a villain.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: In canon both Regina and Emma are straight. Here they are bisexual.
  • Aroused by Their Voice: In one scene when Emma wakes up to Regina spooning her, the sound of Regina's "husky" morning voice is enough to get Emma aroused.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: Once Regina is freed from the effects of the potion and admits that she is really in love with Emma, the two share a passionate kiss.
  • Hate Sink: Hook here is stripped of his redeeming qualities and is instead presented as a petty cowardly man who thinks it's okay to force Emma to love him with magic.
  • Love Potion: The entire plot is focused on Regina falling in love with Emma after accidentally drinking a love potion that Hook got from Gold. Subverted when it is revealed that it wasn't a love potion but a potion but rather a potion to lower inhibitions and that Regina was already in love with Emma.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The story goes out of its way to highlight how beautiful Regina is at any given opportunity, including how sexy her voice is. There is even a scene where she seductively strips for Emma and then proceeds to try and seduce her after breakfast.
  • Papa Wolf: When it's revealed that Hook tried to use a potion on Emma, David has no trouble decking Hook and locking him up to protect his daughter.
  • Shipper on Deck: Gold is revealed to ship Emma and Regina having seen how they look at each other and even celebrates them kissing at the end.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Or rather Single Woman Seeks Good Woman. It becomes clear that Regina fell in love with Emma because of her good heart and deeds.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: While they are not dating until the end, Regina has little-to-no problem with attacking Hook for trying to drug Emma, who Regina is love with.
