Ocular Bypass is a (hopefully) soon to be made web series. It follows Damian, a college student who has been having dreams of a strange, alien world for several weeks. One day, he dreams of the same world—only to see some sort of monster attacking someone. When he wakes, he finds an email in his inbox from his school, in memoriam of a fellow student. Yet, the picture looks familiar... it's the person from his dream.
It all gets worse from there.
Joined by two fellow classmates, Damian works to decipher what exactly his dreams mean, all while something seems to circle in for the kill.
Tropes depicted in Ocular Bypass include:
- Big Bad Ensemble: The Hunter, the Hound, and Guy, while not working together, certainly serve as this.
- The Corrupter: Guy is actively trying to get Damian and later Paz to continue the series so his influence can reach more people and he can gain more power.
- Crazy-Prepared: Paz keeps extra camera batteries in his bag, and Adrian always has his baseball bat on or near him.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Implied to be what happened to Jacob and Liz. Later, this happens to Damian; he was ripped apart so thoroughly that they had to idenitfy his body with dental records. Eighteen of his teeth couldn't be used.
- Died in Ignorance: Damian. The Hunter got to him before he could figure out what was really going on.
- Eldritch Location: Where all of Damian's dreams take place. He describes it as "a beach, at night, but something is horribly wrong, and you can't tell what".
- Faux Affably Evil: Guy acts friendly, but he's only stringing the three along for some entertainment.
- Only Sane Man: Over time, it becomes clear that Adrian is the most level-headed of the three, and the most likely to keep his cool.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Damian, who is usually upbeat, shows more and more moments of being angry and demanding as his Sanity Slippage escalates.
- Power Trio: The protagonists fulfill this, as do the antagonists.
- Precision F-Strike: During the cabin stay, as Paz tries to stop filming Damian and Adrian's argument.
Damian: KEEP FUCKING FILMING, PAZ!
- Sanity Slippage: Affects all of them, but Damian definitely gets hit the hardest.
