Ritual Entertainment (formerly known as Hipnotic Entertainment), was a development house based in Dallas, Texas. They were mostly known for creating First-Person Shooters and expansion packs for established games. They changed their name from Hipnotic to Ritual in order to avoid confusion with another development house called Hypnotix.

The studio was founded by former 3D Realms talent Robert Atkins, Mark Dochtermann, Jim Dosé, Richard 'Levelord' Gray, Michael Hadwin, Harry Miller, and Tom Mustaine. Most of them worked in Duke Nukem 3D.

In 2007 the studio, bleeding money from an aborted mission pack for Quake IV, was acquired by MumboJumbo, with several of their key staff departing from the company. After the acquisition, most of their members went on to other companies such as id Software, Nerve Software, Splash Damage and Gearbox Software.
