Tropes associated with his roles:
- Dawson Casting:
- Averted for Super 8, where he was 15 playing a 14-year-old.
- He was around 20 and playing a high schooler in F the Prom (he played Cole both as a freshman at the very start of the film and as a senior throughout the rest of the film).
- He was 21 during the filming of The Kissing Booth, playing Lee Flynn, who is 16-turning-17. Courtney is actually over a year older than Jacob Elordi, who plays Lee's older brother Noah. In the sequels, Lee is an 18-year-old high school senior, while Courtney was 23 during filming. His age matches Lee's during the third movie's epilogue, which is set six years later.
- Zach in Assimilate is a high schooler, while Courtney was around 21 during filming.
