The game owes a lot of its content to this, mostly with plenty of Call Forwards delving into Continuity Porn at times:

  • Enemies:
    • Certain enemies returning from Kirby's Dream Land would slide into this game as some were already horror-themed:
      • Boolers become the new default flying enemy.
      • Flapper accompany them, although with a redesigned sprite more similar of their artwork and appearance in Dream Course.
      • Mumbies return for numerous enemy roles, being able to fly freely or explode upon being inhaled.
      • Two-Faces reappear here, behaving closer to Super Mario Bros. 2's Phantos.
      • Chuckies hover over boxes back here again.
    • Plenty of enemies from Kirby's Dream Land's extra mode and Revenge of the King make a reappearance here, namely:
      • Koozers over Bronto Burt.
      • Grumples over Kabu, with Whiskers accompanying them.
      • Blopper over Cappy, but its replacement from Revenge of the King (Poison Mash) takes center stage).
      • Flotzo over Squishy.
      • Blatzy over Shotzo.
      • Gaspar over Noddy.
      • Skuller reappears here, now treated as inhalable enemies that can chase players around.
      • Mr. P. Umpkin replaces Scarfy.
      • Perot over Poppy Bros Jr.
    • Every use of the Parasol ability gets replaced with a Drifter from Kirby's Dream Land 2.
      • Spikeys return here from Dream Land 2, now being able to roll.
      • Pengy here takes their Master Pengy design from Dream Land 2 here too.
      • Propellers take the place of Tornado enemies, a bit less blood thirsty for your animal friends this time.
    • Tacs and Bio Sparks from Super Star take the place of Bounders as ninjas and thieves respectively.
      • Moto Shotzos reappear a bit less mobile this time.
    • Chef Kawasaki appears as the 4th opponent in Quick Draw.
    • Pirate Dees and Doos boast similar Bandanas as those of Bandana Dee in later games. They also use Cottons to glide down instead of Parasols, like the Cotton Dees in Canvas Curse.
    • Kapars lose the ability to throw cutters, but they make up for it by continuing their amphibian lifestyle like in Dream Land 3.
      • Gabons however gain the Cutter ability this time, with their bones turning into boomerangs now.
      • Galbos act a bit more mobile now as the Fire enemy. Ditto for Magoos, which now can roll around in flames instead of just jumping from lava.
      • Kekes fly around on their brooms again in this romhack, but give out Hi-Jump instead. They also cameo as dolls in the Crane Fever minigame.
      • Como ditches the web hanging in favor of climbing walls and shooting web projectiles.
      • Joe sharks take the place of Blippers, being more aggressive sharks this time.
      • Nidoos still impersonate doors as usual, but they're much more mobile and remain a teleporting danger on dark rooms.
      • Batamon still lurk around certain levels inaccesible from the player.
    • The mighty Plugg from Kirby 64 takes new life hopping around.
      • Ghost Knights reappear guarding ghostly areas, and can even No-Sell some attacks like old times too!
      • Punc takes the place of Togezo here.
      • Fishbones get an appearance as standard swimming fish now.
    • Needlous from the original game's remake gets reintroduced here, also replacing Togezo.
    • Golems and Metal Guardians from Amazing Mirror reappear here as well, but shrunken down instead of being large enemies.
      • Wiz appears as the final boss of Quick Draw.
    • Squeakers from Squeak Squad appear here acting more like regular mice enemies.
      • Gaw Gaws can slash foes with claws much more wildly, as well as granting Sword.
      • Tedhaun plushies appear as prizes in Crane Fever.
    • Jacko Lights take design inspirations from Squashini from Epic Yarn.
    • Spooksteps and Phantas from the haunted levels of Triple Deluxe reappear here with pretty much their same behavior.
      • Ghost Gordos from those same areas replace ever single Gordo in this game as well.
      • Clown Acrobots from that game reappear too, now using their hula hoops as boomerangs.
      • Sectra Dees and Sectra Burts from Sectonia's palace reappear here too.
      • Spynum appears as the 2nd opponent of Quick Draw, dropping his archer for a gun.
    • Squishies don similar outfits to Rainbow Curse's Claykken.
    • Nesp from Planet Robobot float through the air and shoot lasers now.
      • The cars from the town levels of that game make it here as regular Wheel enemies.
      • Wester appears as the first opponent in Quick Draw.
    • The Fishonk enemies use the clownfish from the Fish Helm in Team Kirby Clash as inspiration.
    • Whippy from Right Back at Ya! appears as a mad clown with a chainsaw and as the third opponent in Quick Draw.

  • Bosses:
    • Like their junior counterparts, Poppy Bros Seniors take on the appearance of Revenge of the King's Perot, with a cool beret now.
    • Waiu appears as the Throw mid-boss in this game, ditching Cutter as he did in Dream Land 2.
    • Mother Moth's design is largely inspired by Mosugaba from Right Back at Ya!, but standing upright instead.
      • She also uses Beetleys from Triple Deluxe as ammo.
    • Tokkon was a Dummied Out enemy in Amazing Mirror, repurposed here as the mid-boss for Mike.
    • Bonkerstein's design is lifted from Halloween art from the Kirby Twitter page.
    • The Meta-Knights get replaced by the three knights of Dream Land 2, Blade, Butch & Masher, with Helmee from Mass Attack joining them.
    • Whispy Woods' design here is called as Yggy Woods Jr, referencing the boss from Star Allies, as well as the autumn palette of Twin Woods in Super Star Ultra.
    • Adeleine from Kirby 64 returns here, and she can paint a number of references from past games:
      • She can paint Kookler from Kirby's Dream Land, which embraces their oni origins and shoots lightning downwards.
      • Mike Kirby's design from Super Star appears as a moving painting.
      • A painting of Gooey from Dream Land 2 & 3 appears as a bouncing ball.
      • N-Z from her same game can be painted just like in her old boss fight.
      • The very Off-Model Dededeman from Right Back at Ya! can be summoned as well.
      • Wheelie Scooter from Kirby Air Ride appears instead of the car painting.
    • Kracko uses his Kracko's Revenge design from Revenge of the King.
    • Heavy Mole summons projectiles inspired by Dark Matter.
    • Meta Knight's Tuxedo Mask was actually inspired by the doodle in Elline's Diary, showing an identical design.
    • King Dedede's tuxedo in this game is also reminiscent of artwork from the 25th anniversary orchestra.

  • Levels and Worlds:
    • Pumpkin Prairie starts the player off at Kirby's House, previously unseen from outside in the original game. The first levels also feature the pillars from Dream Land 2.
    • Kekes get used sometimes as part of the scenery outside of player reach, just like their role in Kirby 64.
    • Spooky Seaside opens up with Kirby dreaming of past adventures (Gooey, Ribbon & Prince Fluff) before being awakened by Magolor bonking him with a hammer.
    • The desert stages use assets of Quick Draw, with the one in Spooky Seaside mostly taking design cues from Super Star Ultra's Kirby on the Draw.
    • Spooky Seaside transitions into an art gallery area for its final zone, reminiscent of Cloudy Park 6 in ''Dream Land 3 in the way they spawn enemies. The cave area of this level was actually a rescued Dummied Out tileset of the original game.
      • The art studio tileset has graffiti of Dark Matter on its walls, as well as the same faces from World of Drawcia in Canvas Curse.
    • Stage 3 of Terror Tower features a Mind Screw level similar to the Pyramids in Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64, with a similar color scheme of pitch black and blue.
    • The Meta Army are fought in Terror Tower in an area of the tower similar to an airship, referencing their role in Revenge of Meta Knight.
    • Stage 5 of Terror Tower is a full Nostalgia Level having the player revisit Rainbow Route & Moonlight Mansion from Amazing Mirror.
      • Stage 6 follows suit, with Old Tower from Super Star also being recreated for the tower's peak, down to one of its puzzles.
    • Skull Street's alley levels use lamp posts designed after the lanterns in Canvas Curse, with a star inside of them.
      • The sky of these levels use blimps with the design of Kabula from Kirby's Dream Land.
    • Stage 3 of Skull Street pays homage to the Haunted Circus level in Triple Deluxe, right down to using enemies specific to it.
      • The artwork depicts the clown blimp entrance with Dark Crafter's Grab Hand balloons from Rainbow Curse.
    • Stage 6 of Skull Street takes slight hints of the Mall level of Kirby 64's Shiver Star.
    • Stages 5 & 6 of Mount Mist take place in a factory similar to the Factory of Shiver Star, with one of its starting rooms homaging its opening corridor.
    • Hades Harbor is named after the Hades, a location where the novel "Meta Knight and the Knight of Hades" takes place in.
    • The Macho Statue from Super Star is constantly used as a background prop in the levels of Hades Harbor for its temple areas.
    • The checkerboard colored water in the sunken ruins of Hades Harbor 2 is modeled after the checkerboard pool tileset of the original game, which this tileset replaces.
    • The sunken ship in Hades Harbor is loosely modeled after the one in Dedede's Resort, in Mass Attack, given they take place in a flooded cave.
    • Imitating many levels of Triple Deluxe, the final room of Hades Harbor 3 has some Kapars standing in the background scenery, ready to jump at the player.
    • Zero Two can be seen looming in the distance of Hades Harbor 4.
    • Meta Knight's arena is decorated on the floor with endless Zebra Mask/Phanto Mask from Super Star.
    • Dark Nebula from Squeak Squad appears on the painting at the start of Ghostly Graves 4.
    • Ghostly Graves's 4th level is a Nostalgia Level comprised of 3 areas:
      • Halfmoon from Super Star.
      • One room from Marx's Guest Star run from Star Allies.
      • A continuous level based on Ripple Star 1, 3 and Dark Star from Kirby 64.
    • The final level ends with a Nostalgia Level inspired by Kirby's Dream Land 2, all with Deliberately Monochrome colors as the original game ended:
      • The first room is based on one of the first areas of Grass Land.
      • The 2nd room is based on Big Forest.
      • The 3rd room is taken from Ripple Field.
      • The 4th room is inspired from Ice Berg.
      • The fifth room is inspired by Red Canyon.
      • The 6th room comes from Cloudy Park, with the exact same assets recreated.
      • The seventh room is taken from the last world of the game: Dark Castle.
      • The last room comes from the last room of Dark Castle, where the player climbs to the top of the castle to battle Dedede.
      • The secret room is modeled after one of the Rainbow Drop passages of Dream Land 2.
